For League of Legends players, the beginning of June and Pulsefire 2020 event ending soon means that it's about time for another update. The incoming Patch 10.12 aims to change several champions who have previously been hit hard by nerfs or continue to overperform in higher ELO. However, there are also other fixes that could potentially shake up the tier list going into summer.

Compared to the number of champions changed in League of Legends' patch 10.11, the newest update has slightly more variety in who has been adjusted. Anyone playing Akali, Brand, Senna, Viktor, Volibear, and Xayah tomorrow will notice their performance is a bit stronger than before. However, players that pick Cassiopeia, Fiddlesticks, Trundle, Varus, or Yasuo should account for slight nerfs if trying to play them as usual.

Out of the entire list of buffs, Senna and Volibear are the main winners of Patch 10.12. After being repeatedly cut down because of her flexibility as a support or ADC, Senna is getting a bugfix to her crit animation's windup time and an increased chance for mist wraiths to drop if she kills a minion. These changes look to cement her support status while not punishing Senna for picking up some CS while the ADC isn't there. On the other hand, Volibear is getting quality of life improvements to his entire kit including bugfixes for Q, W, and significant buffs to his ultimate. Now the Relentless Storm should feel much less clunky and able to rip apart any enemy he reaches.

Alongside the 11 champions, there are also changes coming to 5 runes that can be chosen during champ select. The Approach Velocity, Guardian, Unflinching, and Predator runes are all being simplified so more League of Legends champions will pick them compared to the niche uses they see currently. Taste of Blood is also getting a quality of life change where it will show up while on cooldown, allowing players to a more accurate opportunity to poke and take advantage of the rune's healing.

Finally, the summoner spell Ghost is getting significant changes to emphasize its unique role. While the movement speed is being slightly decreased and the cooldown is going up by 30 seconds, its ramp-up time is being removed and any kills or assists will slightly extend the duration. The new effects make Ghost a viable alternative for LoL champions like the juggernauts who usually have trouble getting close to their target. But the biggest benefactor is undoubtedly Darius, the Hand of Noxus. Darius currently an S tier top laner who already takes Ghost and his ability to pentakill entire teams with his passive and ultimate combo will synergize extremely well with the new movement speed reset.

Even though Pulsefire 2020 is ending soon, Patch 10.12 plus some new High Noon and Hextech skins guarantee that League of Legends players will have plenty to keep them occupied until the next event. And the number of incoming changes means that several champions will eventually become contested picks when the LCS reaches this update in several weeks.
