A player of The Last of Us Part 1 encountered a strange bug that created an absurdly large pool of blood after Joel killed an opponent. The Last of Us Part 1 is a full remake of the original PS3 game with brand-new assets and improved gameplay mechanics. The characters in particular have received a massive overhaul, and it brings the overall experience more in line with The Last of Us Part 2.

The Last of Us Part 1 received extremely positive reviews on launch, although it wasn’t as critically acclaimed as the original game or its sequel. The Last of Us Part 1 also appears to be a relatively smooth experience with few glitches or bugs. This is the case with Naughty Dog’s games in general as its titles are not known for being riddled with issues. However, probably no game is completely bug-free, and one fan recently encountered a funny glitch in the game.

A user named andrushkap has shared a clip of a strange bug related to how blood spreads in The Last of Us Part 1. In the video, Joel is trying to hide from his enemies and stealthily approach his destination. An opponent charges forward, but Joel kills him with a single hit from his axe. Then, an unusually massive pool of blood starts to appear underneath the dead body and even spreads to a nearby room. The user sees another opponent shooting at them as the encounter continues and Ellie joins the fight.

Many gamers comment on the funny glitch, with one calling it the best bug in The Last of Us Part 1 so far. A Bloodborne fan quotes the famous line from the game, "We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood," and other players join in with lines from the rest of the cutscene. One user even wants Naughty Dog to add this effect as an unlockable modifier that makes blood spread like it's shown in the clip.

Some fans claim that Ghost of Tsushima has a similar blood effect, but it wastes one charm slot. This charm in Ghost of Tsushima is called the Charm of Carnage, and it makes all combat encounters more bloody. It was added in the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends DLC after the game launched, which might be the reason why some users may not have heard of it.

The Last Of Us Part 1 is available now on the PS5, and a PC version is in development.
