The Clicker is perhaps the most popular and iconic infected enemy in The Last of Us, having been seen in every entry of the series thus far. This enemy was the subject of a statue made by a passionate fan of The Last of Us over the course of three months.

Clickers are the third stage of infected present in The Last of Us and are best known for their split heads, lack of sight, and distinctive clicking sounds. It is explained in the first game that Clickers are unable to see due to their eyes being covered by fungal plates and instead make their way around with echolocation by clicking. Clickers were most recently seen in the Last of Us adaptation on HBO introduced in the second episode with characters maneuvering around them using sound distractions.

The Clicker has become something of a favorite among the series' fans and has thus been a popular subject of fan art. Reddit user Pasq99 showed off their contribution to the pool of fan creations in the form of a Clicker statue they handmade over the course of three months. Unlike the terrifyingly life-like Clicker bust made by another fan of The Last of Us, this statue stands at just under four feet tall yet features similar details like the split head.

Fans on the Last of Us subreddit were quick to give Pasq99 props for being able to recreate the Clicker in all its revolting glory. Some users pointed out how scary a statue of this size would be to see in person while another mentioned that the statue could be made more colorful with the addition of more fungal growths. This is especially relevant since this statue includes the Clicker's twisted limbs and torn clothes, something that would not normally be included in other fan creations like the scarily accurate Clicker mask made by another fan of The Last of Us.

The iconic status of Clickers in the Last of Us franchise can be attributed to their recognizable design as well as being characteristically distinct from other forms of infected. More infected types would go on to be introduced in The Last of Us Part 2 such as the Rat King which was similarly recreated as a clay model by a Last of Us fan, but these have yet to become as synonymous with the franchise as the Clicker. The Clicker has become the unofficial mascot character of The Last of Us and is likely to continue to be so going into the future.

The Last of Us Part 1 is available now on PS5.
