The Last of Us 2 features safes and doors which are locked by codes. Each of these codes tends to be hidden behind some kind of clever puzzle, but luckily the code remains the same in each playthrough. Because of this, players that don't want to go through the trouble of solving each puzzle can look the code up online.

One of the more difficult puzzles to solve in The Last of Us 2 is the soda can door code, mostly because the puzzle itself doesn't actually give the player the full answer. Instead, fans will have to rely on luck, deductive reasoning, or sheer determination to get this code right.

This code is found during the Tunnels subchapter of the game and opens a locked door which leads to the lounge. Inside this room players can get ahold of a ton of crafting materials as well as a bottle of supplements and some ammunition.

Opening the door requires the player to enter the code 1-5-2-4-3 into the door, but discovering this for oneself can be a bit difficult. The note tells the player to buy a drink in order to get the code, and astute players will notice a vending machine nearby. Though Ellie doesn't seem to have any cash on her, she is able to break the glass of the vending machine by throwing a brick or using some other method. Taped to the soda can is the first three letters of the door code, 1-5-2, but the player has to figure the other two out for themselves.

Once done puzzling at how the author managed to tape the start of the code onto the side of the soda can and then somehow place it back in the vending machine, head over to the locked door. Thankfully, the door only allows each button to be pressed once, resulting in a lot less possible combinations, and since the player already has the first three, it is narrowed down to only two options. Trial and error should eventually reveal that the code is 1-5-2-4-3.

Getting access to this hidden area as well as all the safes in The Last of Us 2 will give the player a huge edge in the game, as resources are scarce, especially on higher difficulties. Certain weapons can even be missed entirely by not opening every safe or door, so it is in players' best interest do so.

The Last of Us 2 is available now exclusively for PS4.
