An entertaining Last of Us 2 bug compilation has surfaced online, showing players killing supposedly un-killable NPCs Tommy and Nora. Last of Us 2 fans are no stranger to odd glitches, but it's interesting that they're still being found to this day.

The Last of Us 2 released in June 2020 to critical acclaim, though fan reception was more mixed. Many fans were not a fan of some narrative choices made in The Last of Us 2. Despite this, the characters were still seen as a highlight of the game, including returning character Tommy and new character Nora featured in the video.

In the clip from The Last of Us 2, the player manages to keep up with Tommy as he attempts to escape their advances. Normally, it is scripted so that Tommy closes the shutter seen in the clip before the player is able to reach him. Here, the player dives underneath the shutter, and the AI doesn't quite know what to do. They then are able to attack Tommy like a normal enemy, before choking him to death, despite him still playing a large role in the story later on.

It's the next bug that gets players really laughing, however. The player throws a molotov cocktail into where a cutscene is about to play. Once it begins, Nora spawns in the fire, nonchalantly walking into frame as if she hasn't burst into flames. After a moment she dies, ragdolling and falling out of frame comically. The cutscene continues as normal, with Ellie pointing her weapon and speaking as if Nora is still alive. Even more bizarre, Nora actually continues to speak, removing any element of seriousness from the scene. Imagine seeing that in The Last of Us HBO series.

The Last of Us franchise is undoubtedly a massive force in the gaming industry, with the aforementioned TV adaptation of the first game arriving in January 2023. In any potential The Last of Us 3 there will surely be similar issues, no matter how big the budget, such are the nature of video games. With narrative games such as this, it's important they try and stamp out as many of these bugs as possible. Though undeniably funny, there's no doubt that they take some of the narrative heft from their scenes, and can potentially remove the player from the experience.

The Last of Us 2 is available now for PlayStation 4.
