The Black Panther sequel reportedly just got three new additions to the cast, and it turns out that one of them might be none other than Lake Bell. While shooting on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is getting set to hit pause, it appears a few scenes were shot with the actress, who most recently joined the MCU as the voice of Black Widow in the Disney Plus What If ...? series.

The Black Panther sequel film is shutting down production for a couple of months in order to allow star Letitia Wright to recuperate from an injury she suffered while performing a stunt on set. However, while Wright has been resting at home, director Ryan Coogler has been shooting as many scenes as possible that don't require her presence.

Photos shared on Instagram from the Atlanta Filming account show those scenes being shot and one picture includes Bell in the background, apparently joking around with castmates. Alongside the photos, the account claimed there were three new additions to the cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but only gave clues as to who they might be. They added that one of the pics was a "deep Marvel reference" that had been gender-swapped. There was another photo the account said it had posted in black and white to make it a bit harder to guess who was involved.

Because the addition of Bell has not been formally announced, it's all a matter of guesswork as to just who she might be playing. What is known is that she's no stranger to the MCU or DC Comics anymore. Before Bell took on the role of a voice actor in What ...If?, she lent her talents to the Harley Quinn animated series that was first on DC Universe and is now part of the HBO Max catalog of DC television shows and movies. Bell plays the iconic Poison Ivy, who in the show is also the best friend turned love interest of Harley.

As for who else might be featured in the set photos, several fans guessed that the black and white photo was of Riri Williams because whoever was hanging from the helicopter was wearing sneakers. Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) is also known as Ironheart in the Marvel universe.

That particular hero was already announced as part of the Black Panther sequel and set photos of the Ironheart character have already surfaced online. That could mean that the black and white photo could be of someone else entirely since the account claimed all three were of new cast members.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is due in theaters on November 11, 2022.
