Joker: Folie à Deux started filming a few weeks ago, with images of Joaquin Phoenix donning Arthur Fleck's killer makeup popping up online shortly. Now, DC fans can rejoice at the highly anticipated reveal of Lady Gaga in full Harley Quinn costume.

While Warner Bros. Discovery's DC Universe continues to cope with the failure of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the detached nature of Todd Phillips' Joker 2 has people excited about what's next for one of the breakout films of the past decade. Excitement for the movie only grew once it was revealed that Lady Gaga would join Zazie Beetz and Phoenix in the cast, with the singer’s first images from the set showing her pre-transformation look.

Two behind-the-scenes Joker 2 photos surfaced online (via @PopBase) showing Lady Gaga wearing the villain’s classic red, black, and white color. She's also wearing the signature clown makeup, all modified to fit Phillips' world. Like the Joker himself, Dr. Harleen Quinzel has a grounded version of the iconic costume that still manages to honor Harley Quinn, thanks to the diamond pattern on Lady Gaga's top and stockings or simply the added details and flair on her red blazer.

Just a couple of weeks ago, photos taken from the set revealed what Lady Gaga's Harley could look like. However, these new photos are what many DC fans had been waiting for, and online reactions point to the pop superstar nailing the look. Joker: Folie à Deux won’t be released until late 2024, though it’s fair to say the star has already won fans’ favor.

Although no real plot details have been shared by Phillips nor leaked, Joker 2 will follow the classic Harley Quinn and Joker storyline where Dr. Quinzel falls in love with the villain after he’s been committed to Arkham Asylum. Unlike Phoenix, Lady Gaga has not been spotted shooting any action scenes, and the same goes for the musical moments that will be featured in the film.

Joker's success in 2019 proves that solo comic movies not tied to a larger interconnected universe are more than viable, handing the studio one of its most handsome paydays. The same goes for Matt Reeves' The Batman, which has already spawned off The Penguin series that many look forward to.

Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024.
