Lady Gaga is one of the most successful pop music stars of the last 10 years, and she has also found great success in acting as well, having starred in the 2018 hit film A Star is Born. Lady Gaga has also had a connection to the video game industry, with her tracks appearing in everything from Dance Central to Farmville. Despite this, the popular singer doesn't appear to know what Fortnite is - or at least that's what she's claimed on Twitter.

Earlier today, Lady Gaga took to Twitter to ask her 79.7 million followers what "fortnight" is. This has prompted nearly 15,000 replies, over 93,000 retweets, and an astonishing 347,000 likes (and counting). Twitter has effectively has gone nuts over Lady Gaga's Fortnite tweet, which was more likely than not just a joke tweet from the singer.

While we doubt it, it is possible that Lady Gaga hasn't heard of Fortnite until just recently. The game made mainstream news because of its black hole event, which saw Fortnite become completely inaccessible for a couple of hours. It stands to reason that Gaga maybe hadn't heard of Fortnite until seeing the black hole event covered by mainstream news outlets, as people who aren't regular gamers may not really be paying attention to it.

Then again, the Fortnite black hole event is far from the only time Epic's battle royale game has found itself on the news. There have been many stories about Fortnite addiction, and how intense some kids' addiction to the game really is. These Fortnite addiction stories have sparked plenty of controversy and mainstream media coverage, though it's still possible that Lady Gaga simply missed news reports about these issues.

Whether or not Lady Gaga is joking about not knowing what Fortnite is, there's no denying that the game is one of the biggest games in the entire world. Very few video games get their special events covered by mainstream media, and Fortnite Chapter 2 seems to be propelling the battle royale game to new heights. It's safe to say that as Fortnite's popularity continues to grow, there will soon be very few people who don't know what the game is.

Fortnite is out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
