For the first time in history, a video game is being featured at a film festival. The Tribeca Film Festival is honoring LA Noire as an Official Selection with recognition at the festival. Tribeca Enterprises' Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Gilmore, details the key points of featuring the game at the film festival:

What Rockstar and Team Bondi have accomplished with LA Noire is nothing less than groundbreaking. It’s an invention of a new realm of storytelling that is part cinema, part gaming, and a whole new realm of narrative expression, interactivity, and immersion. We are poised on the edge of a new frontier.

In conjunction with the recognition, Rockstar will show of an exclusive preview of LA Noire on April 25th, 2011 during the Tribeca Talks series. The preview will be moderated by Gilmore, and will feature a live demo of the game. There will also be a Q&A regarding the making of the game, the technology incorporated, as well as storytelling in the video game arena.

This selection and showcase is enthusiastically welcomed by the Rockstar team. Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, shares their excitement:
