The popularity of Among Us has led some creative minds to add in some features players want that have been left out by developers. This includes an all-new proximity chat feature, allowing players to hear each other speaking in-game when they are near each other. This feature has led to some incredibly funny moments, including KSI getting busted as an imposter.

While Among Us released back in 2018, it blew up in popularity during 2020. Among Us features minimalistic graphics and a space-themed setting. The game revolves around crewmates completing tasks while imposters attempt to kill all of the crewmates without being found out and before all tasks are completed. Players call meetings and vote for who they believe the imposter is. The game then sends them off with a map dependant animation and tells the players if the person was an imposter or not. Among Us had a major popularity spike in 2020, mostly due to popular streamers and YouTubers playing the game, as a fun and relaxing change to their normal games. The indie game was one of the biggest video game surprises of 2020.

Recently, popular YouTuber KSI got into trouble during a game, as another YouTuber Randolph found KSI standing over two dead bodies laughing to himself. The "Dead Body Reported" screen flashed up almost immediately, as KSI let out a quiet "oh sh*t." Randolph immediately burst into laughter and tried to explain to the others in the meeting what he saw. Even funnier is the quiet voice of KSI in the background asking "what do you mean," in a feeble attempt to get away with it when he had no chance at feigning innocence.

As expected, KSI was voted off and he could only make disappointed sounds while his avatar floated through space. He was of course confirmed an imposter. The whole sequence of events was hilarious and is a normal occurrence in Among Us.

Content creators have been cashing in on the popularity of Among Us. It's been common for streamers to even include celebrities in their games, like Pokimane playing with Addison Rae in an Among Us stream, even with the divided opinions of their fans. Some viewers enjoy the celebrity cameos, while others would rather watch their favorite streamers play together.

Proximity Chat has been a popular external addition to Among Us, adding twists to the already tense game. Many fans of the game are excited about the potential of Among Us mods, though, and are hoping that InnerSloth will be adding more features in the future. Among Us even became the "most popular game ever" last year, and with releases for Xbox Game Pass scheduled in 2021, the Among Us train doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

Among Us is currently available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X versions scheduled for release in 2021.
