Natsume Akatsuki’s KonoSuba light novel series has reached 10 million copies in circulation, the series’ publisher announced on their Twitter account Saturday.

Akatsuki took to his Twitter account to share the news with fans, stating “I’ve heard that the total number of copies of KONOSUBA has exceeded 10 million. It’s all thanks to everyone who’s supported the series, so thank you! In the next volume’s preview in the first volume of KONOSUBA, Aqua says something like ‘I’m sure to sell 10 million copies,’ and it has become a reality.”

The series follows the adventures of Satoko Kazuma, a layabout who is transported to another world following his embarrassing death. He, alongside the goddess Aqua and companions Darkness and Megumin, set out to defeat the world’s demon lord, but their individual quirks and collective incompetence make that a difficult task.

After the success of the short web novel, Akatsuki would start on the KonoSuba light novel in 2013. The series was illustrated by Kurone Mishima and ran in the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint from 2013 to 2020.

A spin-off light novel series focused on Megumin and Yunyun titled, KonoSuba: An Explosion on this Wonderful World!, ran from July 2014 to June 2015, totaling three volumes. Another spin-off titled Consulting With This Masked Devil! was released in 2016, and followed the misadventures of Aqua, Wiz, and Vanir. A third spin-off, KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! Extra Attention to that Wonderful Fool!, released in 2017 and has amassed seven collected volumes so far.

A manga adaptation of the light novel began serialization in 2014, published in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine. An adaptation of the Explosion on this Wonderful World! Spin-off ran in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive imprint from 2016-2017.

Studio DEEN adapted the light novel into two 10 episode long seasons and two OVAs, running from 2016-2017. In 2019, J.C. Staff released a feature-length film, KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson, which adapted the fifth volume of the light novels.

Yen Press publishes the light novel and manga adaptation alongside the An Explosion on this Wonderful World! spin-offs. Crunchyroll owns the anime series’ streaming rights, while Discotek Media distributes the physical releases.

A third season of the anime has been green-lit, though no release date has been announced as of yet.
