Over the nearly 20 years since the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game debuted in international markets, the strategic card game has grown into one of the most popular card games in the world. The massive popularity of the TV anime helped to spark the massive popularity of Yu-Gi-Oh! in its early days and characters like Yugi and Kaiba have become iconic parts of the franchise. Now, Konami is working with the CDC Foundation to host a charity giveaway with the grand prize being Kaiba's legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

The popularity of Yu-Gi-Oh! has shaped the world of trading card games and has released a variety of different products throughout its history. Recognizable characters like Yugi, Kaiba, and their famous boss monsters regularly appear as figures and the franchise has spawned a long line of video games based around the card game. Among all the unique monsters featured within Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon is one of the most well-known creatures from the series. Konami recently teamed up with the CDC Foundation to give away a platinum version of the legendary dragon.

The giveaway will feature a platinum Blue-Eyes White Dragon card similar to the limited run sold by Konami earlier this year signed by Seto Kaiba's voice actor, Eric Stuart. Interested fans can enter the giveaway by donating a minimum of $20 through the giveaway's Tiltify page to benefit the CDC Foundation's COVID-19 relief efforts. Since the giveaway officially began on Thursday, the fundraiser has already raised over $7000 of its $10000 goal.

However, the platinum Blue-Eyes White Dragon will not be the only prize featured within the charity giveaway. Alongside the grand prize, six runner-up winners will also receive a booster box of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game's first set, Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon. The popularity and scarcity has caused the price of classic Yu-Gi-Oh! cards like Blue-Eyes White Dragon to skyrocket, with some of the series' most iconic cards selling for tens of thousands of dollars.

Past the presence of the physical card game, Yu-Gi-Oh! has thrived in the digital card game in recent years as well. The popular mobile version of the game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, recently introduced the characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V to the game and the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel looks to provide a multi-platform simulator for the standard card game. Yu-Gi-Oh!'s iconic characters have become a staple of modern pop culture and Konami's recent giveaway will give lucky fans of Seto Kaiba a prize worth treasuring for a good cause.
