Hideo Kojima is Keeping His Full Studio Logo a Secret

Kojima Productions and PlayStation Partner

The new Kojima Productions skull-and-helmet logo was revealed back in December, but in a new interview, Hideo Kojima reveals that there's more to it than what meets the eye.

Following the drama-filled split between Hideo Kojima and Konami at the tail-end of last year, the Metal Gear Solid creator wasted no time in opening a new studio in a partnership with Sony. Since that announcement, most of the attention on Kojima productions has been focused on what gamers can expect from its mysterious upcoming title. While Kojima is keeping his cards close to his chest in regards to his new game, it appears that the studio has a few other hidden secrets - completely unrelated to the new game - that have yet to be revealed.

In a new interview with Famistu, Kojima stated that there's more to the new Kojima Productions studio logo than it seems, but he is unable to reveal it completely just yet. Based on what little information Kojima was able to give, the skull and helmet logo that we've seen for the past few months is just the literal tip of what's been shown - there's a whole body that's still yet to be revealed, and fans can get their hands on a figure of it sometime in the future.

"I can't really say yet, but this logo has a secret. It has a full body, a really cool full body. We're planning on putting out a figure version of it."

Other than stating that the logo's full body will look "very cool," Kojima is keeping his cards close to his chest. With no one having any idea on what the logo's body looks like, Kojima lightheartedly suggested "Couldn't someone make like an anime or something with this character?"

While Kojima Productions is keeping a tight seal on all its activities at the moment, it looks as though we'll see the full version of the studio's logo before we see any solid information on its upcoming game. Kojima recently stated that it's "way too early" to talk about his new game, which makes perfect sense given that his new studio is barely five months old.

What we do know at the moment is that this new game is currently in the pre-production phase, and that it will be a big action game that will appeal to fans of modern AAA titles. Kojima cited games like The Division as one whose fans will likely enjoy his new game, although it's hard to imagine the Metal Gear Solid creator working on a loot-based shooter focused on realism.

With interesting plans for his studio's logo, a big new game to work on, and a new YouTube series on the side, Hideo Kojima has really embraced his post-Konami life, and it'll be interesting to see what other secrets and surprises he still has in store for his fans.
