Throughout the 36 years since he joined Konami in 1986, Hideo Kojima has established himself as one of the most recognizable names in the gaming industry. The creator of the iconic Metal Gear Solid franchise became a face of Konami throughout his time with the developer until his highly-publicized departure in 2015. Since then, Kojima has continued to see success with his own independent studio, the self-titled Kojima Productions, producing the critically-acclaimed Death Stranding as the developer's first original title in 2019. Now, Kojima Productions looks to be on the move.

While Kojima Productions only recently released its first original game as an independent developer, the development studio had been a subsidiary of Konami for years beforehand since its official establishment in 2005. Kojima Productions' time as a Konami studio saw the developer focusing heavily on the Metal Gear Solid franchise, developing the games from 2005 to 2015, as well as dabbling in other iconic Konami series like the Silent Hill follow-up P.T. and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Now, a recent post from Hideo Kojima has revealed that, after five years in its current home, Kojima Productions will be moving into a new office.

Kojima made several posts on his official Twitter account on Thursday sharing pictures of Kojima Productions' now empty offices. While the new location is not mentioned or shown by Kojima in any of the tweets, one tweet shows off a wall filled with black-and-white photos as well as murals drawn by guests and friends of Kojima with a signature and drawing from popular American comedian Conan O'Brien prominently featured near the front of the wall.

While the move is clearly bittersweet for Kojima, Kojima Productions' move comes at a time when speculation about the studio's next project has been rampant. Last month saw Kojima Productions hiring for a variety of positions with the developer reportedly working on multiple games and even creating an anime. While Kojima Productions has yet to officially reveal any upcoming projects, the studio's eccentric executive has been known in the past to tease fans with hints about the studio's upcoming projects.

Outside of his position as Kojima Productions' founder, Hideo Kojima has built his own brand over his time in the gaming industry and has become an icon of the medium. The developer recently launched "Hideo Kojima's Radioverse", Kojima's official podcast, through Amazon and Audible and Kojima has been honored numerous times throughout the years with awards for his contribution to the gaming industry as a whole. Wherever Kojima has gone throughout his career, success has followed, and the same will likely be true as Kojima Productions transitions into a new era with its new office.
