Kojima Productions might be best known for Death Stranding, but it also has a philanthropic side. The company has released a t-shirt and an avatar to help raise money for the wildfire-ravaged Australian wildlife.

Kojima Productions is a Japanese-based game developer created by Hideo Kojima. It was originally part of Konami, but Kojima broke off after Konami cancelled the much anticipated Silent Hills horror game that was in the works by the studio back in 2015. Since then, the company has created the divisive Death Stranding.

While Kojima has been quoted as saying he is interested in other projects like anime and movies, Kojima Productions is very well known for its games. Using this popularity, Hideo Kojima is trying to connect gamers to this important charity.

Inspired by the Game Developer Choice Awards Nominee, Death Stranding, the shirt calls for people to "Connect for Australia." The shirt goes for $25 with the proceeds going to The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, one of the organizations helping the wildlife after the disastrous 2019 wildfires. Shirts are available in unisex sizes between Small and XXLarge.

Fans will also be able to support the RSPCA by purchasing a limited-edition avatar in the PlayStation Store that they can spend from $1 to $50 on. The avatar will be available for purchase until the last day of February, but the shirts appear to be available for as long as supplies last.

This isn't the first time that a video game studio has supported those trying to clean up after the wildfires, like the Destiny 2 Special Emblems and the DLC for Modern Warfare. But it's always great to see a great company using its popularity to help bring in some money for charity. And while not everyone will have enough money for the $25 t-shirt plus shipping, most gamers will have at least a dollar to be able to donate for the avatar to be part of such a great cause.

While there are many gamers are still heartbroken over the loss of Silent Hills from Konami and Kojima, Death Stranding has shown that Hideo Kojima isn't planning on giving up on games. And that's great news for not only fans of Kojima's creations, but also for the wildlife that will benefit from this charity drive.
