The video game industry is filled to the brim with familiar names that are known for delivering some truly exciting games. One such name is Koch Media, which is known for being the parent company of big titles like the Saints Row and Dead Island series.

Like many other game companies during this time of year, Koch Media is using the summer announcement season to give gamers some exciting news. Not only is Koch Media going to be delivering a slew of new games over the next couple of years, but they will all be under a brand new publishing label known as Prime Matter.

It's no secret that one of the biggest labels Koch Media is responsible for is Deep Silver. The label is responsible for the aforementioned Saints Row, and it also published the recent cult-hit Maneater. Prime Matter will be expanding the Koch Media family beyond what Deep Silver has already established, growing not only the company's gaming reach, but its influence on the industry as a whole. Game Rant attended a pre-show where details were given on the new Prime Matter label and what its motivations are going forward.

What Is Prime Matter

From the presentation that Koch Media provided on Prime Matter, the primary focus for the label is delivering unique games that provide deep, immersive experiences. The label is made up of a range of industry veterans and emerging newcomers, and plans on building a community by gamers, for gamers. Game Rant was able to get a statement from a member of Prime Matter about the label's vision and where it hopes to fit in with the rest of the industry:

"I see Prime Matter as a new home for premium games that offer our partners both current and future all the expertise of Koch Media with a new, dynamic, fresh and powerful team dedicated to maximizing their true potential. At the same time, we must also remember that the video game industry is about gaming and intrinsically fun. Prime Matter will constantly look to connect with gamers, building and nurturing communities, and highlighting the shared enjoyment of gaming."

Prime Matter certainly seems to be off to a good start with all of the support it's received from Koch Media, so time will tell just how influential the label proves to be. Koch Media has already shown with Deep Silver that it believes in supporting fresh ideas that draw in gamers from all over the world, so Prime Matter will likely be an even greater extension of that philosophy.
