Velan Studios’ Knockout City, the team-based dodgeball game, has been enjoying a surge of popularity since it launched on multiple platforms a month ago. Since its release on May 21, the competitive multiplayer brawler has already achieved the impressive milestone of over 5 million unique players logging into the game. And the developer has a lot planned to keep people interested in Knockout City for a long time to come.

Built on the simple premise of a carefree game of dodgeball, Knockout City adds 3v3, 4v4, or free-for-all matches into the mix, along with character customization options, a variety of Special Balls with different powers, and a selection of maps. Season 1 is currently in full swing, and Season 2 begins on July 27, which also marks the beginning of the next league play season.

Velan Studios has released a sneak peek at the Knockout City roadmap for the upcoming season, which will last nine weeks. In addition to introducing an entirely new map to the game, Season 2 will also include three special events, new crew and season contracts, five playlists, a new Special Ball, and a different season theme.

To keep players coming back regularly, Season 2 will also mark the beginning of daily login bonuses. Each day that a person logs into the game, they will receive a random reward such as Style Chips, Holobux, or Energy Drinks. Seasons 3 and 4 of Knockout City will also launch this year, approximately in late September and late November, respectively, although details about their content haven’t been revealed.

Gamers won’t need to wait until July 27 for exciting activities, though, because the Knockout City mid-season Heatwave event is currently running through July 5. Players can collect Ice Pops hidden in strategic locations throughout the game, earn Heatwave Tickets, and then redeem them for exclusive in-game items.

Knockout City was designed to be easy to pick up and play, but require skill to master. The game has intuitive controls so that even newcomers will feel comfortable jumping into the brawl. And Knockout City features crossplay, so people can team up with their friends no matter the platform. As a Crew, players can unlock Crew-only rewards to differentiate their team from the rest, and individual players can also customize everything from their body type to hairstyle to create a unique look.

For those uncertain whether they’ll enjoy a dodgeball brawler, Knockout City offers a free trial that makes the game entirely free-to-play until Street Rank 25. The game is also currently available via EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Knockout City is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
