Although item synthesis appeared in the original release of Kingdom Hearts, its later re-release, Kingdom Hearts 1.5, added several new items that Sora, Donald, and Goofy can craft in their adventures. One of the items needed for several more powerful synthesis items is Mythril Stone, which also happens to be one of the hardest to farm later in the game.

There are several locations in Kingdom Hearts where one can find Mythril Stones inside chests or obtain them as drops by boss enemies. However, if they want to craft every available item to reach the Ultima Weapon, they will need more Mythril Stones as a guaranteed drop during the story.

One of the essential items for crafting in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Final Remix is the Mythril Stone. This stone will give the party access to some of the most powerful weapons and accessories in the game. This guide has been updated to include more steps to finding and farming Mythril Stones in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Final Remix.

Where To Find Mythril Stone

Unfortunately, Mythril Stone is only found in one location on one Disney world, making it a pain to farm for before taking its low drop chance into account. The Mythril Stone is obtained after defeating the heartless Pot Scorpion encountered in Agrabah at the Palace Gates. Unfortunately, getting Mythril Stone isn't as simple as repeatedly beating the creature.

Like several other rare drops in the game, Mythril Stone will only appear if the player meets the criteria while battling the Pot Scorpion will need to be repeated every time they want to find more of this rare item.

Farming Mythril Stone

If players have been trying to find Mythril Stone, they may notice that no matter how many times the Pot Scorpion is killed, the item won't drop. The process is repetitive and frustrating if they are to reach the Ultima Weapon. However, players can improve their chances of obtaining the item and getting the Pot Scorpion to drop it.

Farming Mythril Stone From The Pot Scorpion

As mentioned above, the Mythril Stone is obtained from the Pot Scorpion at the Palace Gates. Upon approaching the Gates, the party will encounter 12 pots that can be broken. One of these pots hides one of Kingdom Heart's heartless creatures, the scorpion. Use the following method to find the scorpion for the best chance of getting it to drop the Mythril Stone:

  • To find the hidden scorpion, Sora should carefully push against the pots to move them.
  • Sora can only push and move the empty pots. The pot that doesn't move is the one containing the heartless creature.
  • Create enough distance away from the pot that contains the scorpion to break them individually. Avoid attacking and smashing them with the Keyblade when they are too close together.
  • With 11 pots broken, fight and defeat the scorpion for a 35% chance of it dropping the Mythril Stone.
  • To farm Mythril Stone, leave the Palace Gates, then return to reset the 12 pots and repeat the process of gaining more stones after each fight.

Unfortunately, 35% is the highest chance of getting the scorpion to drop the Mythril Stone. Attacking the scorpion first has a 10% chance, and breaking between 1 and 10 pots gives Sora a 20% chance of getting Mythril Stone.

What Mythril Stone Is Used For

In the original game, Mythril Stone is used for crafting AP Up items and a handful of other equipable times like the Rune Armlett, Magic Armlett, and Dark Ring.

In 1.5 Final Mix, however, it can be used to make a new weapon for Donald called Fantasista. This powerful staff increases his Strength and MP by a whopping +3 points and grants Donald the highest MP stat buff. The stones are some of the best ways to raise the party's abilities in Kingdom Hearts.

Mythril Stones are used for obtaining the raw Mythril, the EXP Earring for a 20% boost in EXP gained after a battle, and Cosmic Arts for a +9 increase to HP, +2 in AP, and +2 in MP.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Final Remix is available for the PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
