Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory received an announcement trailer earlier this week, but it was in Japanese, so the only way viewers unfamiliar with the language could understand what was going on was through fan translations. Luckily, only a few days after the trailer's reveal, Square Enix has released the trailer's English counterpart with official translations.

That's not all either. In a Japanese press release held shortly after the airing of the original Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory trailer, Square Enix released the game's very first batch of screenshots. Some display images from the trailer, but others display never-before-seen gameplay and story beats.

Weirdly enough, the Melody of Memory trailer doesn't use the English voiceovers in its latter half when it puts focus on Kairi. It does have closed captions, however, so there are no worries there. Either way, the official translation doesn't change much from the fan ones, so the scenario between Kairi and the mysterious figure remains the same.

As for the new screenshots, there are 14 in total, with eight of them ripped from the announcement trailer. The remaining six give a first look at the game's portrayal of Wonderland and Atlantica. They also show off more of Agrabah and provide a different angle of Kairi facing down the man in the black coat.

Players will recognize a lot of the images as locations visited from KH1. They're practically ripped right from the game, which makes sense considering the "Memory" portion of Melody of Memory's logo. Wonderland's images show off the Queen's Court and Rabbit Hole locations. Atlantica displays the Sunken Ship, and Agrabah shows off The Cave of Wonders.

According to the press release that provided these images, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory will allow players to take control of over 20 different characters from across the franchise. The game's announcement trailer provided other details, such as the fact that the game will feature over 140 songs, allow up to two players, and have four different modes, including online battles.

Finally, Square Enix also opened up the official Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory English website. There's not much to it, except a few screenshots and its announcement trailer, but it does mean promotion for the game is in full swing. No word on its release date yet, but it should be coming out in only a few months.
