Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance Trailer

Kingdom Hearts fans now have a solid reason to pick up a 3DS in March. Square Enix has lifted the veil from their latest title in the series, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

As you will see in the game’s trailer, the title has both Sora and Riku teaming up to take down the Heartless.

The Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance trailer will have fans shaking with anticipation for not only the 3DS, and a new Kingdom Hearts game, but for what will hopefully be the final bridge to Kingdom Hearts 3.

Along with squeals of joy, this announcement also brings moans of fatigue with gamers expressing how tired they are of all the spin-offs. It’s true, the Kingdom Hearts franchise has had its fair share of handheld spin-offs and remakes – and remakes of spin-offs – however this game looks like it’s ready to bring the series back on track.

Check out the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance trailer below:

The characters are speaking Japanese, but you don’t need to know what they’re saying to know that this game is going to be cool. Judging by the epic orchestral music, and fast frantic action, the title is looking like a must have for the 3DS.

Speaking of fast, it looks like Square Enix has turned up the volume on the battle system. The combat of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance somewhat resembles that of God of War or Devil May Cry, just without all the violent death and destruction.

While we don’t have any major details on the plot, we do know that gamers will get to switch between controlling Sora and Riku. What’s interesting about this trailer is that it doesn’t show them fighting together as a team. The scenes indicate the dynamic duo will be traveling along parallel paths, and this theory is driven home with the final scene showing Sora and Riku squaring off against their own villains.

Hopefully fans won’t have to wait long before director Tetsuya Normura releases some new info on the title.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance currently doesn’t have a firm release date, however we expect to get more details once Nintendo announces the North American release, and price, of the 3DS tomorrow.
