As the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3 approaches, Square Enix has been generous enough to keep fans posted on the game’s development with several trailers showcasing the exciting worlds that await players come January. Now, the studio has revealed the talented people that would be giving life to some of the game’s beloved characters.

First off, voice actor Haley Joel Osment, who provided the original voice work for Sora, will reprise the role of the protagonist in Kingdom Hearts 3. Square Enix also announced that most of the actors that previously played Disney characters in the movies will be reprising their respective roles in the upcoming game. Below is the list of the confirmed voice actors in Kingdom Hearts 3:

  • Idina Menzel as Elsa from Frozen
  • Kristen Bell as Anna from Frozen
  • Josh Gad as Olaf from Frozen
  • Jonathan Groff as Kristoff from Frozen
  • Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider from Tangled
  • Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel from Tangled
  • John Ratzenberger as Hamm from Toy Story
  • Wallace Shawn as Rex from Toy Story
  • Tate Donovan as Hercules from Hercules
  • Kevin R. McNally as Gibbs from Pirates of the Caribbean

As of now, the list of confirmed actors appears to be incomplete, given that some characters that were previously shown in trailers were not included in the announcement. Last week, Square Enix released an extended trailer of the game that featured the world of Big Hero 6 and its characters. So far, no announcement has been made on whether the original voice actors of Baymax and Hiro will reprise their roles in the game. Also missing was Rapunzel from Tangled, who was originally played by Mandy Moore, so it is possible that Square Enix will release more information soon.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will serve as a direct sequel to the 2006 title Kingdom Hearts 2 and will be the twelfth entry in the franchise overall. However, players shouldn’t be concerned about the 12-year gap between KH2 and KH3 as Square Enix promises to give a recap of past events in the upcoming title.

The game has been announced for quite some time now and has made eager fans wait in anticipation. We were able to get a hands-on experience of Kingdom Hearts 3 and was impressed with the game’s gorgeous visuals, stellar voice acting and excellent combat. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the game is definitely worth the wait.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled to release on January 29, 2019, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
