As many know, Kingdom Hearts 3 has a complicated plot spanning a multitude of installments across a variety of consoles and handhelds. And there's no doubt that many were ready to see the end of the Xehanort saga in the latest installment of the action RPG series. So many, in fact, that it became the fastest selling game in the history of the longrunning series.

Counting both physical and digital copies since January 29, Kingdom Hearts 3 has managed to ship over 5 million units. That means millions of gamers have taken the dive into the all of the Disney worlds the game has to offer such as Big Hero 6 and Monsters Inc.

Of course, considering it has only been out a week (at the time writing), sales are only going to keep climbing. Plus, with the game set to include DLC, the profitability of Kingdom Hearts 3 is also likely to keep growing. After all, whether the DLC will focus on expanding the story or adding new worlds (or both), gamers may very well wish to see the franchise's titular third installment continue to move forward.

These statistics almost speak for themselves, as it proves that the anticipation and hype behind Kingdom Hearts 3 is as big as ever. Some have likely already beaten the game by now, but with the number of mini-games, collectibles, and more, it's hard to say how many players are actually finished with the game. In other words, it would seem that plenty are happy with this installment.

For some, however, the fact that Kingdom Hearts 3 has taken so long to launch is a cause for concern. So for those on the fence about picking up the latest installment in the franchise, we recommend checking out our review of Square Enix's latest action RPG. Needless to say, newcomers will likely want to study up before diving into this installment.
