During Disney's D23 Expo in Tokyo over the weekend, Square Enix debuted a new trailer for the forthcoming action role-playing game Kingdom Hearts 3, with the majority of the footage focusing on the title's Monsters Inc. world. Now, the video game publisher and developer has released a slew of new renders and screenshots for the game that offer fresh looks at the characters, weapons, and gameplay players should expect to find in KH3.

As seen in the Imgur album below (with the pictures courtesy of 4Gamer), many Kingdom Hearts 3 fans will notice that most of the images come directly from the aforementioned trailer shown off during D23 in Japan, but there are also a few more that highlight the action-RPG's Toy Story and Tangled worlds. What's more is that the character Riku is displayed alongside Mickey Mouse in several of the images as well, with the former leaving his Keyblade behind in the Dark Margin.

With these new images from Square Enix having come shortly after the most recent D23 Expo, it's safe to presume that the publisher and developer will begin ramping up advertising and promotion for Kingdom Hearts 3 in a major way. As it so happens, the game's development is close to completion, so it would be in the company's best interests to continue reminding fans about KH3 well until it actually becomes available.

Speaking of which, there's currently no exact release date set for Kingdom Hearts 3, but considering the wealth of new information shared over the weekend, it's quite possible that Square Enix will finally nail down an official launch time for the title soon. The action-RPG is easily one of the most highly anticipated games of 2018, but hype for KH3 would skyrocket exponentially should its publisher and developer divulge when it intends to have the game go live.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release at some point in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
