Kingdom Hearts 3 features mostly new worlds for players to travel to, including some Pixar-themed stages for the first time in series history. However, there are still many untapped Disney franchises that would potentially make for some interesting worlds for Sora and the gang to explore, and it's possible these worlds could be added to the game as DLC.

We know that Square Enix is planning post-launch DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3, but we just don't know the extent of it. Assuming Square Enix's DLC plans for Kingdom Hearts 3 include DLC worlds, here are the 10 we would like to see the most.

10 1. Atlantis (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire is often listed as one of the most underrated Disney animated features, thanks to its somewhat lackluster box office performance. The film's take on the Lost City of Atlantis would offer some unique visuals, and the science-fiction vehicles could lend themselves to some interesting gameplay opportunities not seen in the game's other worlds.

9 2. Great Barrier Reef (Finding Nemo)

Some Kingdom Hearts fans may be hesitant to see the franchise have another underwater level, especially since The Little Mermaid Atlantica world is considered by many to be one of the worst worlds in the series. But just because the franchise's past attempts at underwater worlds didn't quite hit the mark, it doesn't mean that new ones can't make up for it.

In a Finding Nemo world, Sora and the gang could take on the appearance of various fish, which would hopefully translate to improved underwater mobility than what we've seen in the past. As long as the sluggish keyblade battles and confusing exploration from The Little Mermaid world in the first game don't return, we think the Great Barrier Reef has the potential to be a lot of fun.

8 3. India (The Jungle Book)

Basing Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC worlds on newer Disney and Pixar films may be preferred by the team at Square Enix, but that doesn't mean the classics should be ignored. The 1967 adaptation of The Jungle Book is one of the most well-received films in Disney's lineup of animated features, and should definitely be represented in the Kingdom Hearts franchise at some point. The art style could be similar to what we saw in the Tarzan world from the first Kingdom Hearts, though perhaps it could take more inspiration from the 2016 live-action Jungle Book film, which grossed nearly $1 billion and won an Academy Award. Whichever version of The Jungle Book is represented, it would be nice to see some of the film's iconic characters, like Bagheera, Baloo, Shere Khan, and Mowgli appear in the game.

7 4. Land of the Dead (Coco)

In 2017, Coco won two Academy Awards and earned widespread acclaim from critics. In particular, praise was given to the film's art style and Land of the Dead setting, which should really mesh well with Kingdom Heart 3. Sora, Donald, and Goofy could travel to the Land of the Dead, and get fitting skeletal makeovers that could fill the spooky void left by the absence of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

6 5. Marvel Universe

Thanks to Disney's acquisition of Marvel, the door is wide open for the Kingdom Hearts franchise to add worlds based on Marvel's various superheroes. However, since the vast majority of Marvel's heroes all exist in the same universe, it may be better for a Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC Marvel world to be somewhere like New York City, where multiple characters could make an appearance. A Kingdom Hearts 3 world set in New York could see appearances from some of Marvel's most well-known characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, and more.

Presumably, if a Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC world was set in New York City, it would be similar to the Big Hero 6-themed San Fransokyo stage. It could be more of an open world setting, and allow Sora to visit notable Marvel landmarks like the Avengers Tower, the Daily Bugle, or the Baxter Building. Alternatively, a Marvel-themed Kingdom Hearts 3 world could even be set in Asgard or in space, with Sora and friends traveling alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy to battle cosmic Marvel threats.

5 6. Motunui (Moana)

Moana DLC world in Kingdom Hearts 3 would be fitting considering the similarities between Moana and Sora. For example, both grew up on islands, and both have a strong desire to leave their tropical homes in search of adventure. Furthermore, Maui's giant magic fishhook could serve as inspiration for a new keyblade that Sora could add to his arsenal. Maui also seems like a good fit for one of the game's link summons as well.

4 7. Radiant Garden

While Twilight Town is one of the most-visited locations in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, another area that is frequently visited is Hollow Bastion, later known as Radiant Garden. Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden has been the scene of many of the Kingdom Hearts franchise's biggest moments, serving as one of the final worlds in the first game and the hub world in Kingdom Hearts 2. Radiant Garden makes some appearances in Kingdom Hearts 3, but only in cut-scenes, and players aren't able to physically visit it. Since Radiant Garden is the home of Final Fantasy characters, adding it as post-launch DLC could address the complaint about Kingdom Hearts 3's lack of Final Fantasy heroes.

3 8. Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood)

Robin Hood is another classic Disney animated feature that could make for an interesting Kingdom Hearts 3 world. The characters in the film are anthropomorphic animals, so it would be interesting to see if Sora would change form like he does in the Monsters, Inc. world, or if he would be able to retain his human form. Structurally, Sherwood Forest could be similar to the Tangled-themed Kingdom of Corona world, which may be a little repetitive, but the chance to explore such an iconic location may be worth it for Disney fans.

2 9. Star Wars

disney plus all shows and movies

Just like Disney's purchase of Marvel opened the door for superheroes to appear in Kingdom Hearts 3 as DLC, Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm means DLC worlds could be based on Star Wars. The world could be set on an iconic location like the Death Star, or maybe the planet of Tatooine. Or maybe a Star Wars-themed world could be especially ambitious, allowing players to visit multiple locations from the saga.

1 10. Zootopia

Out of all the modern Disney animated features, Zootopia may be the top of the pile. The film has a near-perfect rating on RottenTomatoes, and is one of the few animated features to surpass $1 billion at the box office. The film features a number of locations full of talking animals for players to interact with, including the titular Zootopia, which would work well as an open world-style area in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
