Fans of Kingdom Hearts 3 are already enjoying the new Re:MIND DLC that has been released, which has added a surplus of new content to the game. One particularly surprising addition, however, is that of a new voice actor for the game's main villain, Master Xehanort.

The series is no stranger to bringing in some big names to play some of its original characters, such as Mark Hamill (AKA Luke Skywalker) as Master Eraqus and the late Christopher Lee, who voiced Ansem the Wise in Kingdom Hearts 2. Now Square Enix and Disney can brag that they got Christopher Lloyd to star in the series.

Lloyd is probably most famous for his role as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future movies, and he has lent his voice to other games like the Back to the Future game from Telltale and the 2015 King's Quest title.

Xehanort was originally voiced by Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who passed away in 2015, a couple of years after Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced. For the game, he was replaced by Blade Runner star Rutger Hauer, who has now also since passed away. Fans have been quick to notice the trend of elderly 80s sci-fi icons playing the character.

Whether Lloyd will voice Xehanort in any future titles remains unknown, especially considering Kingdom Hearts 3 is meant to mark the end of the Xehanort Saga. However, a new mobile game that will focus on Xehanort himself and his backstory is slated to come out this year.

The Re:MIND DLC seems to attempt to address some of the criticisms that were lobbied at Kingdom Hearts 3 when it first released. The lack of any Final Fantasy cameos left a lot of fans wanting, so the likes of Leon, Aerith, and Yuffie have made a return. Director Tetsuya Nomura has explained why these characters weren't included in the base game, citing time issues as one of the main reasons.

In addition, a free update that came out alongside the DLC has added two more Keyblades for players to acquire - Oathkeeper and Oblivion, which were fan favourites from the first two games. Those who want to know how they can get their hands on them can find out here.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is available on PS4 and Xbox One.
