It's safe to say, judging by its critical and commercial reception, that Kingdom Hearts 3 lived up to the lofty expectations many had. But upon completion, several players were left hungry for more. With the inevitable Kingdom Hearts 4 still a very long way off, Square Enix looks set to keep fans sated with DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3. Details were fuzzy for quite a while but now we have some actual info about the new content, courtesy of the game's director, Tetsuya Nomura.

The announcement came during the first date of the World of Tres Orchestra tour in Tokyo, a concert that hosts live performances of beloved music tracks from the series, including Kingdom Hearts 3. Nomura himself made a surprise appearance during the concert, where he revealed what exactly the upcoming DLC will consist of. Twitter user YanilynGaming, who was in attendance as a workhorse, was kind enough to translate and post what Nomura said to Twitter, which can be seen below.

While this still doesn't provide anything too concrete, it's clear that there's a lot more to Kingdom Hearts 3's story that Nomura wishes to tell, assuming that the Limit and Secret Episodes mentioned are additional scenarios, alongside ReMIND. We do know that the character Xion will be featured, as confirmed by Nomura previously, but there are still a number of plot details that were left unanswered that could potentially be explored. Maybe it will also help further the plot of the mobile game, Union Cross, which is still receiving story updates right now, with the most recent one introducing a world based off of Wreck-It Ralph.

Meanwhile, the inclusion of new bosses could help pleasing those disappointed with the game's current lack of optional, challenging super-bosses. The English VA option is most likely for Japanese copies of the game, though it seems that Western copies won't be receiving a Japanese VA option.

While all of this content will need to be paid for, all players will be given access to a brand new Keyblade and Form for free. Is it a completely original one or a returning fan-favorite? Could it be tied to a new world and, if so, what world could that be? The inclusion of the aforementioned Wreck-It Ralph world would make sense given how intrinsically tied KH3 and Union Cross's stories are, and Ralph himself appeared as a Summon to aid Sora on his adventure. We certainly have some ideas for potential Disney DLC worlds but, at this point, it's purely speculation and the new story content could be solely focused on filling in the gaps that players missed due to spending most of the game with Sora.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy the recent free update to the game, which included the new Critical Mode, an extremely challenging difficulty level that requires players to completely re-think their usual strategies. As for the future DLC, it currently has no release date or even a trailer, but we can probably hope to see some more concrete info sometime this year.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is available right now on PS4 and Xbox One.
