The entirety of Kingdom Hearts recently released on PC for the first time. This was something PC gamers have been waiting for since the series debuted on PS2 in 2002, perhaps because hardcore PC fans out there didn’t want to buy consoles just for this series alone.

Meanwhile, others just wanted to jump into these worlds and create havoc through the power of mods. Barely over a month since these games launched, the mod support is already huge. Let’s take a look at some of the cool and weird examples for Kingdom Hearts III specifically. Each link through Nexus Mods has an easy-to-read explanation of how to install them.

10 Tres Mod Menu

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod was put onto Nexus Mods by Luseu. It has the power to duplicate any character in the game from low level Heartless to Organization XIII members. Players can even swap out who they play as. Other variations of this mod are available, but this seems to be the most popular one on the boards right now.

As depicted in the demo picture, players could even train against an endless horde. Players might need a beefy PC to maximize this mod’s potential, without reducing the game to a single frame per second.

9 Ultima Model Swap To X-Blade

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod comes from NexusMods user TalesFreak. There are many weapon mods for Sora’s Keyblade such as other Keyblades from the series, Captain America’s shield, Thor’s hammer, and so on.

The one that sticks out the most is the X-Blade which is what Master Xehanort has been wishing for for the entire series. It’s bulky to wield, but also looks cool as all get out.

8 Smores' Thomas The Train

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

NexusMods user Smores gives players this next entry. It’s a simple mod that replaces the tram in Twilight Town with Thomas the Tank engine.

Thomas has been used in a countless amount of mods, usually on the creepier side of things like replacing Mr. X in Resident Evil 2’s remake. This mod makes him seem more natural a fit in the game's world though.

7 Drip Sora

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod comes to fans courtesy of NexusMods user Junior. There are two distinct features in this mod. First of all, Sora is dressed like a street hoodlum from the 90s, making him look like he fits in with Roxas’ gang.

The other change is his Keyblade, which looks like the sword from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It’s a simple clothing mod, but is still pretty funny to see, especially in battle.

6 KH2 Cloud Over Sora

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod was created by DaniZaya. It replaces Sora with the Kingdom Hearts II model of Cloud, aka the one from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

There are many variations to this mod, including replacing the boy wonder with Roxas, Aqua, Axel, and so many others. Cloud, though, seemed like both the coolest and funniest character to highlight. Imagining him interacting with Disney characters is a riot.

5 Yu-Gi-Oh Cards

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod comes to NexusMods thanks to DemurerFire. This mod replaces Luxord’s cards with Yu-Gi-Oh cards instead.

This is another example of a mod with tons of variations, including Pokemon cards, Uno, and gift cards like for Apple or Fortnite points. Sticking with Yu-Gi-Oh is a good choice, in that one can imagine Luxord trying to summon Exodia which is indeed in the mod.

4 Basic Noclip

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod was put onto NexusMods by Grep. To quote the modder, “This is very buggy and slow, please do not keep this on between map loads.”

As the name implies, this allows players to soar out of bounds in order to clip through walls and explore what Square Enix put in this game. There’s a mod like this for seemingly every game out there, and even though this one is buggy right now, presumably it will get better with time.

3 Comically Large Frying Pan

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III comes from NexusMods user SputnikMan. It’s another weapon mod that was too hard to resist. The idea of Sora using a frying pan as a weapon is already pretty funny. This is presumably the same one Rapunzel uses.

The idea of him using a giant that makes the joke even better. It may not be as cool as using Cloud’s Buster Sword or whatever else is out there, but it is a fun showpiece for the mod community to say the least.

2 Classic Caribbean BGM

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III mod was created by NexusMods user Saro. It replaces the music in the Pirates of the Caribbean world with the music from that world in Kingdom Hearts II. Specifically, it is the redone version found in the HD collections.

The music is great in Kingdom Hearts III, but the original score is a better reflection of the film on which it is based is better, making this mod a must for longtime fans of the series. “He’s a Pirate” is an all time number one jam.

A Kingdom Hearts III Mod

This Kingdom Hearts III comes from NexusMods user Chillaxel. The title should be self-explanatory: it skips all of the logos before the title screen. There are far too many of these to go through before starting up.

It’s understandable why they are there as there are so many properties represented and they all need legal clarifications. However, Kingdom Hearts III is by far the worst offender. Install this mod to hack and slash all that much more faster in the game.
