When Square Enix celebrated the 20th anniversary of its action-RPG series Kingdom Hearts last April 2022, the company seemed to have prepared a lot of news to mark the occasion. And it seems that Square Enix is likely taking the whole year to make the rest of its announcements. With a slew of Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary merchandise announced and being produced, another brand joins the fray. Recently, technology brand Sony revealed that preorders of KH 20th anniversary-themed Walkman and earbuds are now open.

Whenever a new Kingdom Hearts game launches, the community likely expects that official merchandise related to the latest title will soon follow. This was seen in 2021 when Japanese toy brand Good Smile Company opened preorders for Kingdom Hearts 3 Nendoroids of Riku and Sora. Since the series celebrated such a big milestone this 2022, more premium merchandise and products, such as the recently announced KH-themed Sony Walkman and wireless earbuds, will likely be revealed to the public throughout the year.

On Twitter, the official Japanese account of Sony shared news that interested fans can now preorder the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary Walkman and wireless earphones. According to the official website, the Sony Walkman is priced at 36,000 yen or around $283 USD, while the earbuds cost 34,000 yen or $267 USD. The Walkman and wireless earphones share design elements from the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary artwork of chessboard-looking visuals as well as the anniversary logo. For hardcore fans of the game, this is likely something they will appreciate.

The Twitter post also mentioned that purchase of either of the two products will give customers access to Kingdom Hearts theme song "Hikari," which is the Japanese version of "Simple and Clean." Most fans will likely recall this song as the main theme of the first Kingdom Hearts PlayStation 2 title. However, fans who are interested in purchasing the special Sony Walkman and wireless earphones may have to find a proxy shipping service to get their hands on any of the items. As of the moment, the official site does not offer international shipping services, and no announcements on English channels have been made that the products will be available internationally yet.

Nevertheless, Kingdom Hearts fans will likely appreciate the 20th anniversary-themed products. Given that the series has produced some iconic soundtracks that many in the gaming community are familiar with, having something designed after Kingdom Hearts to play its music is likely something interesting to purchase.
