Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the most immersive open-world games of all time. It is apparent that Warhorse Studios put the necessary time and thought into every feature, quest, and aspect of the gameplay. The developer also allocated a lot of resources into the smaller side quests, which are usually boring objective-based quests in RPGs.

Each side quest includes a story, character development, and a resolution. Gamers will feel like they are part of a story instead of a pawn that completes tasks. One of the notable quests in the game is Waldensians questline, which will be broken down in this article. The quest is a tale of treachery, faith, morality, and compassion.

Sir Hanush of Leipa

Gamers will need to travel to the town of Uzhitz, which is located to the east of Talmberg and to the North of Neuhof. Once in the city, players will need to speak with Sir Hanush of Leipa, who is located in the church. Sir Hanush is concerned that the Archbishop's Vicar is heading into town, and wants to figure out why the Archbishop has sent him. Sir Hanush believes that the Vicar is either on the hunt for heretics or planning to steal the Hanush Estate. Players will be tasked with greeting the Vicar and convincing him that nothing immoral is going on in the city.

Speak With The Vicar

The Vicar will is denoted by a red shield icon with an A on it. He will be sitting on a bench on the northwest side of the town. After players inform him that they were sent to help him in his search for heretics, the Vicar will describe the Waldensians, who he claims are a heretical sect. After exhausting all of the dialogue, the Vicar will hand over information gleaned from interrogating an alleged heretic.  The document will contain clues as to the location of the Waldensian congregation.

Find The Waldensian Congregation

The congregation is located to the northeast of Uzhitz near the edge of the forest. Players can follow the river to the south of Uzhitz to the east and travel along the forest edge to find the congregation. Gamers will notice a hay bale next to a small dirt path that leads into the woods. The path will guide them to the congregation. Players will then need to retrieve the cross and return it to the Vicar. The cross is located on one of the wooden stumps once players reach the clearing.

The Wooden Cross

Players should return to the town and speak with any of the NPCs. The NPC will claim that the cross belongs to the Bauers, who have a farm on the outskirts of Uzhitz. Their farm will be marked by a green indicator. Gamers should then approach the south side of the barn and sneak up the ladder to eavesdrop from the attic. Players can wait for seven hours to speed up the process. During the subsequent cutscene, the Bauers will discuss the Vicar's investigation and whether to leave Uzhitz or face the allegations. Mistress Bauer stubbornly refuses to leave the farm.

Mistress Bauer

Waldensians Farm Kingdom Come

After listening to the cutscene, players should leave the farm and return later to speak with Mistress Bauer who will be sitting on a bench. Gamers will need to persuade her to leave, which will require at least 14 speech. Bard's potion can be used for players that do not have high enough speech. Gamers should choose the third dialogue option while speaking with her. Then, players will need to inform the Vicar that the Bauers are fleeing. This will end the quest once players have met with the Vicar and Sir Hanush. However, players should not inform Sir Hanush that they helped the Bauers' escape. By telling Sir Hanush the truth, players will forfeit their reward.

Alternative Quest Steps

Gamers can choose to relay all of the information they have gathered with the Priest or another NPC, however, it is not necessary. Gamers can decide to turn in the Bauers to the Vicar without warning them, but they will not be able to claim the longsword from Sir Hanush. Hopefully, no player would turn in those poor innocent people.

Players that have read the book in the Vicar's inventory will likely abandon the quest altogether and assassinate him. The Vicar had tortured the innocent informant until he was dead. Not surprisingly, the Vicar had punished many for their beliefs. Gamers that want to exercise vigilante justice and kill the Vicar should snipe him with a bow from long range. Gamers may be questioned by guards, but they can either be persuaded or killed to cover up the assassination. Killing the Vicar will complete the quest with Sir Hanush, but with no reward. Kingdom Come: Deliverance players can decide to be a vigilante, moral citizen, or inquisitor.
