The King of Fighters fans were left empty-handed following yesterday's expected announcements involving The King of Fighters 15 and Samurai Shodown's Season Pass 3. On the day of the announcements, SNK had pulled the plug, citing the postponement of the news until further notice.

In spite of the King of Fighters 15 announcement delay, fans did wake up to see a trailer of some capacity for The King of Fighters. However, it would appear to be a different type of King of Fighters altogether. It would be the same King of Fighters that fans have been playing for almost four years.

Earlier this morning, SNK released a trailer for the Ultimate Edition of King of Fighters 14. This version, exclusive to the PlayStation 4 on consoles and also coming to PC, includes the base game and all of its DLC in one package. The DLC includes all eight characters and ten bonus costumes that were featured in two DLC packages in the past.

The trailer encourages KOF fans to "Rekindle [their] fighting passion as we inch closer to [the release] of KOF XV with this special ULTIMATE EDITION that includes ALL BONUS KOF XIV DLC!" For some fans, this appears to be a slap in the face following yesterday's disappointment.

It is assumed that this trailer for The King Of Fighters 14 Ultimate Edition would have been released in conjunction with The King Of Fighters 15 trailerWhile no official statement has yet been given from SNK to explain the delayed announcement, several assume that it's due to the combination of the impending state of emergency lockdown in Japan and holiday vacation.

The King Of Fighters 14 Ultimate Edition is currently out now in Europe, with a North American release on January 20th for the PlayStation 4.
