There was a time when Microsoft seriously pushed the Kinect. Originally a peripheral add-on for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One (with it even initially being bundled with the latter), it was meant to be Microsoft's answer to the Nintendo Wii, offering motion controls without the need for a controller. Instead, Xbox owners could play games using their whole body. While certainly innovative, its popularity ultimately waned, leading to Microsoft retiring the Kinect.

Obviously, this meant no more Kinect games (Microsoft also confirmed that the peripheral isn't even compatible with the Xbox Series X/S), but, surprisingly, an upcoming 2021 game release has been confirmed to feature Kinect support. And it's not even a console game.

Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator is a Steam title from developer Strange Scaffold and is essentially what the name suggests. Described as a sci-fi body horror market tycoon game, players must buy, sell, and trade both human and alien organs. While the game can be played with just a keyboard and mouse, for whatever reason Strange Scaffold has decided to make it possible to play using the Kinect.

Its official Steam page doesn't mention anything about Kinect support, with this information being exclusively revealed by Rock Paper Shotgun. This could effectively make this the last Kinect game ever made, provided no other developer decides to follow suit and incorporate it into their own game.

Though the Kinect is no longer used for games in an official capacity, some modders have gone out of their way to add it to the likes of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Super Mario 64. Microsoft also made a new iteration in 2018 called the Azure Kinect, which is primarily used for logistics, robotics, and even health care.

Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator will release for Steam later this year.
