Ever sit there and wish that you could be like Tony Stark and control your computer with simple hand gestures? Thanks to the people at PrimeSense, that step into the future is coming sooner than you think.

PrimeSense, the company responsible for the Kinect's motion control technology, is now working on bringing the same technology to PCs this Spring. This new motion control device for the PC will be called Wavi Xtion. According to the press release, PrimeSense and ASUS are developing this device to be used with multimedia PCs in order to allow its users to browse videos, pictures, music and even use social networks all with body and hand gestures.

The press release goes in specifically to state that:

"Users can browse multimedia content, access the Internet and social networks, and enjoy full body interaction in a more user-friendly and natural living room experience."

PrimeSense and Asus are planning to soon release a developers kit for the Wavi Xtion called the "Xtion PRO" in February and an "Xtion online Store" to be released at a later undetermined date. The online store will allow developers to sell their newly created apps for the device. Although the device is slated to release in Spring, instead of having a worldwide release date it will hit the market in a region by region basis. As of yet there is no word on which regions will see the device first.  The Wavi Xtion and the Xtion Pro developers kit, will make their public debut at this years Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Microsoft is also set to make announcement on the Kinect at this years CES.

On top of how to pronounce the device's name, it would be nice to know which PCs it would be compatible with. As one would guess, the most interesting thing to see with this device is with the apps. As Microsoft tends to follow a more family-oriented route by not allowing sex games on the Kinect, the course of action may be a little bit different for PrimeSense and ASUS since it sounds like that its catalogue of apps will be left up to the developers. Maybe with the release of the Wavi Xtion, some gamers will receive the more adult-oriented motion controlled games that they have been waiting for.

Ready to step into the future with a motion controlled PC? What do you want to be able to do with this device?
