A Killzone 3 single player demo will be available on the PlayStation Network in February. PlayStation Plus subscribers will get the demo first, being able to download the demo on February 8. The demo will then be available to everyone else on the PlayStation Store starting February 15.

Two separate versions of the demo will be available on the Store, a 2D and 3D version. Gamers without a 3D TV that download the 3D version will not break anything, but will see an error message stating that no 3D TV is detected. The 2D version will have splitscreen co-op, while the 3D version will not. Both versions of the demo, however, will take place on the "Icy Incursion" level and will feature the jetpack. Both versions of the demo will also support the PlayStation Move controls.

And while the upcoming open multiplayer beta and single player demo feature some of Killzone 3's icy environments, those are not the only environments featured in the game. To prove it, Sony released a trailer showcasing multiplayer gaming in a jungle setting. Check it out.

The jungle environment looks pretty cool and contrasts nicely with all the snow and ice landscapes featured so far. It is also nice to a see a jungle-type setting that is not just green. There is no reason why the feeling of being in a jungle on an alien world needs to look the same as jungles on Earth.

It sure seems like Sony is giving gamers every opportunity to get some hands-on time with Killzone 3 before it launches, which implies they are pretty proud of the game. Now gamers will have an opportunity to sample the single player and multiplayer portion of the game before making their purchasing decision. As one of Game Rant's Most Anticipated Games of 2011, you can sure bet we will be there playing the demo as soon as it hits and providing our impressions as well.

What are your thoughts regarding the single player demo and the trailer? Does getting access to the demo a little earlier seem like a good perk for PlayStation Plus members?
