Killzone 3 will be receiving integration of the highest kind into PlayStation Home in preparation of its February release date. PlayStation Home users can start their Helghast killin' early on January 27 when PlayStation Central Plaza gets invaded by the Helghast forces and leaves it as the last ISA stronghold in... the PlayStation universe.

Once Home is accessed, users may assist in ISA evacuation in the form of games that can be used to unlock features in Killzone 3. In addition, those who pre-order their copy of KZ3 through PlayStation Home (hosted by Amazon) will receive a jetpack for the Home avatar. Doesn't that sound like something you might want?

Completion of the series of games (three in all) will provide the player with three Unlock points, used in Killzone 3 to unlock guns or abilities in the multiplayer. You can take a look at the gameplay for the minigame on the official PlayStation Blog. Those who might pre-order their copy through Home will also get a few extra bonuses that aren't just limited to the jetpack, including:

Unlock and Load Pack, instant access to three Unlock Points to use on the weapon or ability of your choice in Killzone 3 multiplayer.

Retro Map Pack, featuring two of the most popular maps from Killzone 2.

It will also be possible to see a preview of the Unlock Point system when the multiplayer beta for Killzone 3 starts on February 2 on PSN, which might give gamers a better idea of what they're getting into before the decide to use the little Amazon kiosk in PlayStation Home.

Utilizing Home in this way is definitely a better way to ensure that people might start checking it out more, especially if it allows them to unlock things faster. The concept of Home is interesting, but it has never really been something that has been truly impressive as a feature. Maybe that will start turning around with Total Game Integration?

Killzone 3 will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3 on February 22, 2011.
