Extravagant collector's editions have quickly become an expectation this generation, with most "triple-A" games getting the special edition treatment. Game Rant reported earlier that Sony and developer Guerrilla Games have teamed up to create an impressive Helghast Edition for upcoming first person shooter Killzone 3. European Ranters will be excited to know that Sony and Guerrilla have announced that both the Helghast and Collector's Editions will be available for PAL territories as well.

Interested in finding out what each version will feature? The Killzone 3 Collector's Edition will be sold in a Steelbook case containing a PlayStation Network download card. The card will give Killzone fans access to goodies such as a dynamic theme to customize the XMB, the Killzone 3 soundtrack, and the Retro Map Pack. This map pack is made up of two maps from Killzone 2. As of right now, the only way to get the Retro Map Pack is by purchasing either the Collector's or Helghast Edition of the game.

The Killzone 3 Helghast Edition boasts everything offered in the Collector's Edition, but packs in a few more surprises as well. In addition to the aforementioned bonuses, this "ultimate version" of Killzone 3 will come with a hardcover art book, a 'Cloaking Marksman' action figure, and a helmet. This just isn't any old helmet, though. Once the helmet is lifted up, gamers will bear witness to the disgustingly awesome-sounding cloaked marksman's "preserved head".

So Ranters, let's hear it: Are you going to be picking up a non-standard version of Killzone 3 once February hits? Which one are you going for, and why? What sort of supplemental content do you want to see the most of in a collector's edition? Let your voice be heard in your comments section, located below!

Killzone 3 will be released on February 22nd, 2011 in North America and February 28th, 2011 in Europe.
