Tripwire Interactive has revealed the newest seasonal update to Killing Floor 2, the team-based survival shooter. The Infernal Insurrection Update gives Killing Floor 2 a new map, more weapons, and creepy cosmetics; all with a Halloween theme.

Although Killing Floor 2 launched in 2016, it has recently seen a resurgence in downloads and player count, with Tripwire Interactive reporting that 11 million copies of the game have been downloaded since July. It seems as if many players took advantage of The Killing Floor 2 being free on Epic Game Store.

The Infernal Insurrection update for Killing Floor 2 is live now and will run through November 10. The new map for the update is Hellmark Station, a horrifying looking train station that is overrun by demons. Players will try to survive here with the help of multiple new weapons, including a mini-gun that rips through enemies and a modified flare gun named the HRG Scorcher,

The trailer for the new content shows off the update in all of its gory glory. The Halloween theme is very obvious in the video, as various skins and cosmetics with spooky themes are ever-present. The Reaper Outfit Bundle is particularly bone-chilling, as the characters of Killing Floor 2 have their heads turned into skulls.

This is not the first time the survival shooter has seen themed updated, as earlier this year Killing Floor 2 received the Perilous Plunder update, a Piratey themed piece of content. Perhaps fans can expect something wintery or holiday-themed with an update in the coming months, but for now, the Infernal Insurrection update arrives just in time for Halloween.

Killing Floor 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
