Tripwire Interactive released the sequel to their cooperative first-person shooter in 2016. Even now, they continue to support the game with a handful of new seasonal maps each year, new gear, and even more terrifying creatures to kill.

There are ten skills in Killing Floor 2 to choose from. Each fifth level will award the player with one of two new abilities per class generally focusing on the player's health or damage. Each class is incredibly powerful, especially once maxed out. However, some are still better or just more fun to play. Here's a ranking of every class in the game, from best to worst.

10 The Berserker Can Heal And Boost Damage

The Berserker class first appeared in the original Killing Floor and returned in the sequel. This class focuses on melee attacks with weapons like the Crovel Survival Tool, Katana, and Bone Crusher. It also comes with abilities that boost the player's health regeneration and damage.

Berserker Rage heals the Zed Slayer by 50% whenever Zed Time is activated. Another ability gives the player 50% more damage with hard attacks, or 30% more damage with light attacks. This class can work while taking on waves of Scrakes and Fleshpounds alone, or joined by five other zombie hunters.

9 The Field Medic Keeps The Team Going

The Field Medic keeps the team alive, especially during intense battles. The class comes with healing darks shooting from the medic's weapons, like the HMTech-401 Assault Rifle and the starting HMTech-101 Pistol.

The healer gets access to a handful of medic grenades. These shoot out a healing mist that can also deal damage to Zeds. Some Field Medic skills include a perk that gives teammates a 10% boost to movement speed when shot with a healing dart, and another that causes the player to release a healing gas during Zed Time. This heals nearby teammates while also damaging enemies.

8 The Demolitionist Blows Up Everything

Demolitionists generally find themselves near the top of the leaderboard with the amount of Zeds they can blow up in large numbers. Armed with all kinds of explosives, this class comes equipped with dynamite, a starting grenade pistol, and a collection of ranged weapons including the RPG-7 and the M32 Grenade Launcher.

Some of the class's perks include Fragmentation Rounds, which increases the area of effect of explosive perk weapons by 50%. Meanwhile, Mad Bomber will allow the player to shoot and reload in near real-time. Additionally, perk weapons' area of effect increases by 25%, and explosive rounds will explode no matter their range.

7 The Firebug Uses Flames Strategically

The Firebug can be nearly as devastating as the Demolitionist if used properly. Its high damaging weapons have a chance to spread damage to nearby wandering Zeds. The starting Caulk n' Burn weapon is an excellent flamethrower-style weapon to use in earlier rounds, paired with Molotov Cocktails. The Mac 10 and Dual Spitfires are also pretty fun to use, even in later waves.

The Firestorm perk is essential when selecting the Firebug class as it will increase the range of the Caulk n' Burn, Flamethrower, and Microwave Gun. Additionally, the Zed Shrapnel skill will cause Zeds attacked with fire to have a 30% chance to explode, damaging and knocking down anybody nearby – including allies.

6 The Gunslinger Shoots To Kill

The Gunslinger comes equipped with several medium to close-ranged sidearms. These include a pair of devastating Dual .50 Desert Eagles and the Dual AF2011-A1s. This class's perks focus on enhancing the player's damage, ammo, and accuracy with these weapons.

As far as perks go, Whirlwind of Lead will give the player an unlimited amount of ammo during Zed Time. Meanwhile, the Rack 'em Up ability will increase the damage of each weapon by 10% with each consecutive headshot. Get that kill streak going!

5 The Support Keeps The Team Well-Stocked

The Support class comes equipped with a collection of powerful shotguns that can take down most enemies when they get a little too close. From the SG 500 Pump-Action shotgun to the Doomstick, the class also comes with the social ability to share ammo with any ally that interacts with the player.

The class also comes with increased ammo and weight capacity and skills. For example, the Resupply Pack ability will gift teammates 30% more ammo and 20% more armor when approaching the player. It also gives the player 20% more ammo for each perk weapon.

4 The Commando Gains Life-Saving Information

This next class comes with a collection of useful abilities, including one skill that allows the player to locate those camouflaged Stalkers. Commandos can also gain the ability to reveal enemy health bars, and even equip night vision. This kind of extra information can be the difference between life and death.

Commando comes with a standard grenade, as well as ranged weapons including the powerful Stoner 63A LMG and a SCAR-H Assault Rifle. Other abilities include Tenacious, which increases the player's total health and armor by 25%. Meanwhile, the Tactical Reload perk increases reload speed with perk weapons.

3 The Swat Deals Heavy, Widespread Damage

This entry is a newcomer in the second Killing Floor game. The Swat class enjoys candlelit dinners, walks on the beach, and blasting through hoards of Zeds with a variety of quick-firing submachine guns. Not even the biggest of swarms can stand in their way.

With the MP5RAS SMG to the Heckler & Koch UMP, this class mirrors the Support class by focusing on the two most important A's in the zombie-infested streets of Paris: armor and ammo. Swat players can use their perks to increase the ammo they carry, boost their maximum armor, remove armor movement penalties, and more.

2 The Sharpshooter Snipes From Afar

Unlike Swat, this class returns to the series from the previous game. Sharpshooter is made for players who prefer to stay back and take out waves of Zeds from far away, with multiple high-damaging rifles.

The Sharpshooter armory includes the FN FAL ACOG and the M99 AMR. It also comes with a unique grenade type that freezes and slows enemies upon detonating, giving the player a chance to retreat or line up the round-ending headshot. Their perk skill Zed Time - Assassin allows them to trigger Zed Time with headshots, during which headshot damage increases by 35%.

1 The Survivalist Has Endless Potential

The Survivalist is a jack-of-all-trades class that can run any playstyle or weapon loadout the player prefers. From a backup healer to an extra explosives expert, this class can play any role

It also has the possibility of running an extra set of healing grenades. This can come in useful, especially when playing without another medic on the team. The skills range from Tactical Training to Heavy Weapons Training, which speeds up the reload time of most weapons. Additionally, Madman causes any weapon to shoot 30x faster during Zed Time.
