It's hard to deny the massive success of Marvel Studios, and even harder to deny that much of that success has come from the leadership of Kevin Feige. While the global pandemic threw a wrench in Marvel's plans for 2020, the Disney-owned studio is roaring back with its current Disney Plus show Moon Knight and the upcoming releases of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Collider reports that Feige recently took the stage at CinemaCon to talk about those projects, but also to announce that he is heading out to a creative retreat. the purpose of that retreat? To plan out the next decade of Marvel projects. It seems that the comic book movie boom is still going strong, likely to the disappointment of directors like Denis Villeneuve.

There were no further details given about the retreat, such as where it will be taking place or what kind of projects will be discussed. As Always, Feige appears to be playing his cards close to the vest. With the central theme of the next phase of Marvel movies appearing to revolve around the multiverse, there are plenty of opportunities for surprises and big stories, though. What fans do know right now is that there are still even more Marvel projects scheduled to hit theaters and Disney Plus this year.

On top of the Thor and Doctor Strange sequels, Ms. Marvel will also be hitting Disney's streaming service on June 8. That series will focus on the origin story of Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani). In November, the long-awaited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released in theaters. Fans can also expect She-Hulk and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special to be released on Disney Plus this year, although no hard release dates have been set for either one.

While Marvel's first three phases had a clear story arc in the infinity stones and the heroes eventually defeating Thanos, it is not entirely clear yet what the future holds for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All fans know currently is that the multiverse will play a large role in the story going forward. Of course, that could mean the appearance of the X-Men in the MCU finally coming to fruition (especially with Patrick Stewart seeming to confirm his role as Professor X in Multiverse of Madness) but nothing is definite. Audiences will just have to wait and see what the future holds for this massive (and still growing) franchise.
