Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a beautiful game with absolutely stunning graphics. Some have compared Kena to playing a Pixar movie, and for good reason. However, the beauty of the game can make it a little difficult to get around, as some of the map's areas look very similar to one another.

Does Kena: Bridge of Spirits Have a Map?

As players move around the first areas of the game, they may get a little turned around. The beginning of the game features a verdant forest where many of the sections look very similar, and it can get a little easy to get turned around when looking for Kena's Rot companions hidden in the brush. Players may be hoping to grab a map in order to make it a little easier to get around.

Kena: Bridges of Spirits does indeed have a map, but players won't be able to unlock it immediately. They'll first have to complete a few quests.

Unlocking the Map in Kena: Bridge of Spirits

The map will unlock automatically as players move through the story. First, they will have to find the first five Rot friends, then chat with the two teal-haired children that Kena finds playing with the Rot. After the five Rot open up the corruption, a pop-up will show up in the game, informing players that the map is now available.

On PlayStation 5, the map button is the center touchpad button. This will also open Kena's Upgrading menu, the Spirit Menu, and give players access to their total number of Karma, gems, and total Rot friends. Next will begin the long quest chain to save Taro and get tons of those sweet Kena trophies.

How to Read the Map in Kena

Like the rest of the game, the map in Kena: Bridge of Spirits is beautiful, but it can be a little hard to read. To the right part of the screen, players will find a list of all collectibles available in the area, including Rots, Spirit Mail, and more. On the left, players will see a list of their active quests.

Active quest areas will show up on the map as yellow or blue circles or runes. The fire icons indicate fast travel locations, but they can only be traveled to if the player is close enough to the travel altar. The map is locked with north at the top of the screen.

The map has a hand-drawn look that focuses on objects in the locations that are memorable, such as a particularly large tree, a shrine, or ruins. Use the winding paths and the arrow showing the direction Kena is facing to find the way to the following location.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
