Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set to launch for PC and PlayStation consoles on September 21, but the developers at Ember Lab are still revealing new features for the adorable-looking adventure game. In fact, it was just announced that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will have a photo mode, though its version of photo mode is a little more involved than how the feature is utilized in many other games.

Photo mode has become a common feature in games over the years, giving players the chance to set up impressive shots as video game graphics continue to increase. Kena: Bridge of Spirits' graphics have wowed fans who've seen trailers for the game showcased at various events since its announcement last year, so they may be especially happy to hear that the game will indeed have a photo mode at launch.

The Kena: Bridge of Spirits take on photo mode sees all of the characters in a shot, including the game's cute Rot creatures, freeze in place. This is like any other photo mode out there, but where Kena: Bridge of Spirits differs is that they can then make the characters animated again, allowing for more unique shots than what's possible from a freeze-frame. Beyond that, Kena: Bridge of Spirits also has a dedicated "Cheese!" button that players can use to make the characters in the game strike a pose and make a face at the camera.

The Kena: Bridge of Spirits photo mode announcement comes alongside the reveal that the game will have a physical deluxe edition release thanks to a new partnership between developer Ember Lab and publisher Maximum Games. The Kena: Bridge of Spirits Deluxe Edition physical release will launch in November and comes with the game's soundtrack and other goodies, though the latter has yet to be revealed.

The Kena: Bridge of Spirits physical release will cost $49.99, making it $10 more expensive than standard versions of the game. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is expected to be a short game, so fans will have to decide if it's worth the asking price once the physical and digital goodies for it have been revealed.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been compared to Pikmin and Zelda, and with it being one of the first PS5 games ever shown off, expectations are high. It's the debut effort of studio Ember Lab, and it will be interesting to see if it lives up to the somewhat lofty fan expectations or not.
