In Kena: Bridge of Spirits, players will need a lot of help from their tiny Rot companions. Not only can these adorable little Rot friends of Kena's help heal the earth of corruption, but they can also move objects around once she has enough of the little guys.

Collecting Rot in Kena: Bridge of Spirits

The Rot are some of the more adorable characters found in Kena: Bridge of Spirits. These tiny creatures are hidden all over the maps, and players will have to nudge them out of their hiding spaces with the Pulse, a move that can be activated by tapping L1. In order to complete the first area, players will have to collect all 5 of these tiny black critters, but there are many out and about in the world that can be missed. Rot are also collected by defeating bosses and clearing out their corruption.

How to Pick Up Objects with Rot

Not all objects in Kena: Bridge of Spirit's beautiful world can be picked up or manipulated by Rot. In order to move, cleanse, or change things in the world with Kena's tiny companions, the object must have the Rot's icon pop up on it. Once an object that can be moved is found, players will have to press Square when the Rot icon appears over the object.

The tiny critter will then swarm the rock, tear drop, or another object; all of them working together to shift it into a new position. Use Kena's aim mode, which is activated by holding L2, and a round blue circle will appear on the ground. Move Kena's view with the left and right sticks on the controller, pressing Square to move the Rot forward. If the blue circle turns red, the Rot will be unable to move the object to that location.

If players have to move an object over a large distance during Kena: Bridge of Spirit's 8- to 10-hour gameplay time, they will have to move just a little at a time. When Kena gets too far away from the Rot without issuing a move command, the Rot will drop the object and run to her without whatever it was they were supposed to be holding.

So to move a statue or a square rock more than a few steps away, press Square over and over to move it a little at a time. When the Rot have it in place, players can order them to drop the item with the down button of the D-pad.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
