Ken Levine Nominated for TIME's 100 Most Influential People

Ken Levine Nominated for TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2012

Ken Levine may not be a name that many of the non-gaming public are familiar with, but the man is responsible for the critically acclaimed Bioshock. Creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games, Levine has undoubtedly impacted the video game industry in a major way. While the man may not be as well-known as megastars like Brad Pitt, Mark Zuckerberg, or Adele, that doesn't make his contributions to the gaming medium any less impactful.

TIME magazine seems to agree. They've nominated Ken Levine for a spot on their infamous "100 Most Influential People of 2012" list.

Earlier today, TIME put up the nominations for their annual list, and Mr. Levine was the only game developer to receive this prestigious nod. This development isn't really shocking for anyone who has come to expect the kind of unrivalled storytelling prowess that Levine has demonstrated in the past.

Gamers who would like to support Levine and move him up the list can do so by heading over to TIME's official poll and voting for him. Act fast though, as the voting will come to a close on Friday, April 6. After that, the final list will be announced and we'll get to see just how well the game dev did.

The latest project being headed by the newly announced TIME nominee is the much-anticipated Bioshock: Infinite, and it's scheduled to release in North America later this year on October 16th. Infinite managed to score the number four spot on Game Rant's 25 most anticipated games of 2012 list, which should be a pretty good indication of how excited we are for the title to land.

We here at Game Rant would like to congratulate Ken Levine on this latest accomplishment, and we can't wait to see how far up TIME's ladder the gaming community can push him.

You can vote for Ken Levine in TIME magazine's "100 Most Influential People of 2012" poll right now.
