Katherine Langford was nearly a part of the ensemble Avengers: Endgame cast, but then the filmmakers opted to delete her scene from the final cut. However, if rumors are true, Langford could get another shot at joining the MCU in a future project.

In Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark sacrificed his own life by harnessing the power of the infinity stones to defeat Thanos and his army. Before succumbing to his wounds, Tony Stark enters another realm, where he is given a chance to speak to an older version of his daughter Morgan Stark and make peace with his fate before passing away.

While Langford portrayed the older Morgan Stark, her scene was ultimately cut from Avengers: Endgame and only made available as bonus material on home media. Now, according to Screen Geek, Langford is in talks to return for a future MCU project. While it would be reasonable to assume she is being eyed to play Morgan Stark, the outlet could not confirm what role Langford was purportedly being eyed for. As noted by the outlet, because her sole appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far is limited to a deleted scene, it's possible that she could portray an entirely different character should she join the MCU.

Katherine Langford in Avengers Endgame

While Langford's scene was cut from Avengers: Endgame, the Russo Brothers have made clear that her performance was not at all a factor in the decision. Instead, it turns out that test audiences didn't really appreciate the sequence partly because most of them didn't know who Langford was supposed to be playing. The directors also felt the scene brought the film to an abrupt halt just to essentially serve the same purpose as a subsequent sequence in which an AI hologram of Tony Stark bids farewell to his young daughter.

Langford herself has managed to earn her own set of fans through her work on series such as 13 Reasons Why and Cursed. However, she arguably caught the attention of most movigoers by starring as a one of the many Thrombey family members in Knives Out.

While Marvel Studios and Disney have not confirmed reports of Langford being in talks to join the MCU, it would certainly be nice for her to have another shot at joining the franchise. So, fans will just have to wait and see if this rumor proves to be true.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Disney Plus.
