The award-winning Kaguya-sama: Love Is War franchise has dominated the ratings this anime season. However, during a recent issue of Young Jump, the magazine that Kaguya-sama: Love Is War serializes in, it was announced that the manga has 14 chapters left before the series ends.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a romantic comedy showcasing an overly dramatic cat-and-mouse game between the two protagonists, Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya, who are persistent in forcing the other protagonist to admit their love for each other first. Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya are both the top student body representatives, and often the other representatives get roped into their shenanigans. Funimation has licensed the English dub, and the manga reached over 15 million copies sold in April of last year. The manga began in 2015 in Shueisha's Miracle Jump, but was transferred to Young Jump in 2016. The 26th volume was just released last month, on June 17. The third season also ended with an hour-long episode last month as well, so some online fans have speculated the potential end of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War could be near.

There have been three seasons of the anime adapted from the manga thus far, having adapted a little over 130 chapters out of 268 total chapters over 26 collected volumes, so even though the recent announcement can be bittersweet, there is still plenty of manga for the anime to adapt from. Therefore, the end of the manga doesn't necessarily mean the recently announced project will be the last in the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War animated franchise. The manga, however, is a different story.

Little is known about the final chapters, however, during a Livedoor News interview, the author has stated previously that he wants to do some curtain-call style chapters for each character similar to dating simulator games. This could mean the finale of the story is closer than initially thought, with the last few chapters primarily focusing on the main characters in the event the author sticks with what he said during the Livedoor interview.

The 31st issue of Young Jump made the announcement just a week after the season 3 finale. As long as there are not any delays the series will finally end in October, one year after its final arc began in 2021. It was recently announced that an anime film entitled, Kaguya-sama: Love is War: The First Kiss Never Ends, will be released in the near future, though no release window has been provided.
