Fans of action games were no doubt excited when Avalanche Studios announced the return of Rico Rodriguez earlier this year in Just Cause 3. Featuring a beautiful new Mediterranean island location for players to cause havoc in, and a number of new features being added such as the ability to tether multiple objects together, Just Cause 3 promises to deliver a unique and over the top experience for players later this year.

As 2015 rolls onward, Avalanche continues to slowly peel back the layers of Just Cause 3, revealing more and more details about the upcoming high octane third person shooter. A new trailer was recently released at Gamescom 2015 revealing a number of new elements and featuring enough explosions to make Michael Bay blush.

Revealed during Microsoft's press conference at Gamescom, the aptly named 'Burn It' trailer gives players a great look at the main antagonist of the game, General Di Ravello, as he provides details on his plans to lure Rico Rodriguez out of hiding. With the past couple of games focused more on gameplay than story, perhaps Just Cause 3 is going to try and provide a bit more narrative this time around. The game may also be taking a lesson from the Far Cry franchise by putting the antagonist in the spotlight.

As expected, the action is fast, over the top, and explosive as Rico uses a number of tools available to him including a wingsuit, parachute, and grappling hook to take down his enemies. Destruction remains an integral part of the game as the trailer shows the protagonist blowing down walls, taking down large structures, and making countless vehicles explode including an impressive sequence at the end involving a large airplane.

Avalanche Studios has promised fans that the open world sandbox concept from the previous two games will be returning alongside a number of new enhancements to help usher the franchise into the current generation. The biggest of these additions may be the fact that the sprawling map will now be populated with random events and a more reactive AI, making each playthrough that much more exciting and unique.

For fans who want more from Just Cause 3, Square Enix recently revealed a collector's edition, which was previously put together through a fan vote on their website. With the polls now closed and the results tallied, the fans ultimately selected a 24 page art book, a replica of Rico's iconic grappling hook, and a 24x24 inch map of Medici, the main location in the game.
