The Just Cause series is notorious for the sheer destructibility of its open-world sandboxes, and the upcoming Just Cause 3 is no exception. Recently, would-be players were treated to a fiery trailer at E3 2015, featuring ten explosions within the first 40 seconds of its playtime, as well as detailing the enhanced uses of the franchise's iconic grappling hook. The trailer had fans on the edge of their seats, and was seen by many as one of the best trailers of E3 2015.

It's not just the explosive nature of Just Cause 3 that has gamers excited however, with one of the main selling points of the series being the sheer free roaming that players are allowed. In-game, developer Avalanche Studios has promised enhanced AI and random events, but fans have also been given a level of control over the title's actual release. In an interesting move, Avalanche and publisher Square Enix allowed gamers to choose the content that would be included in the Just Cause 3 Collector's Edition.

Now, voting on the Collector's Edition has ended, and Square Enix is ready to announce exactly what purchasers will have in store. In an update over at the Square Enix storefront, the publisher outlines the features and collectibles that the premium edition will include. Perhaps the most wanted item is the 15" replica grappling hook, something that is bound to take center stage for many Just Cause fans.

The grappling hook is not the only content available in the Collector's Edition, however. Alongside Rico Rodriguez's tool-of-choice, players will also receive a 24" by 24" map of Medici, the Mediterranean archipelago under the iron rule of dictator General Di Ravello. Those who buy this premium edition will also receive a 32 page artbook, featuring an in-depth look at the world of Just Cause 3 and the game's high-speed aerial combat.

The extensive Collector's Edition will also come with the Day 1 edition of the game, and arrives complete with the weaponized vehicle pack, which features exclusive in-game vehicles. The Collector's Edition of the Avalanche Studios-developed title will be released on the same day as the standard version of Just Cause 3 on December 1. Pre-orders are available now, and the retail price is $109.99.

Many have applauded Square Enix's move to allow fans to vote on the content they would receive with a premium edition, and it's easy to see why. With collector's editions commanding high price tags, the game's hardcore users would no doubt be happy to have some kind of control over exactly what novelty items would be included, ensuring that - at least according to the popular vote - most purchasers would walk away happy. Let's see whether the final version of the game impresses as much as this retail strategy.

Just Cause 3 will be released on December 1 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
