Those who have been wanting the chance to build the ultimate dinosaur theme park of their dreams now know when they can live that fantasy. In a trailer released today, Jurassic World Evolution's official launch date was revealed.

The game will be released on June 12 of this year, which is just about two weeks before the new film in the franchise is set to hit theaters. The new trailer for Jurassic World Evolution shows off some gameplay footage of the upcoming park building title, including some out-of-control dinos and inclement weather wreaking havoc on the park and its patrons.

The title is being developed by Frontier Developments who were behind another big theme park builder, Roller Coaster Tycoon. The studio was also recently responsible for Elite: Dangerous and Planet Coaster. It was also recently revealed by the developer that Jeff Goldblum would be reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm for the game.

As with other titles like Roller Coaster Tycoon, Jurassic World Evolution will task players with building and running a successful theme park. The biggest difference, of course, being that this park is filled with dinosaurs instead of just rides. This means the park's attractions could potentially bite, both literally and figuratively, depending on how well players run their park.

The trailer does show a bit on some of the park building aspects, including some of the buildings that can be constructed. The main one that was shown was the large visitor center seen in the Jurassic World movie. In some of the other footage, it seems the see-through rolling observation pods from the movie will an attraction that can be built, as well.

What would a Jurassic World game be without dinosaurs, though? The trailer does offer a look at a few of the different species players will be able to have at their park. Of course, big ones like T-Rex, velociraptors, and stegosauruses were shown off, among others. There was even a clip of a triceratops getting loose, which required park personnel to take it down from a helicopter with what are assumed to be tranquilizers, and then airlifting it out of the area.

Not much more has been revealed about the title since it was announced at gamescom 2017 other than that it will take place on the famed Isla Nebular from the films. The game will also let players branch out to some of the surrounding areas, like the Muertes Archipelago that was only referenced in the source material of Micheal Crichton's books and not featured in the films.

Jurassic World Evolution is set to release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on June 12, 2018.
