The work it takes to make fans' dinosaurs happy as they go about their lives in the parks is a detail that has always made the Jurassic World Evolution titles unique. Treating these impossible creatures with respect has always been a staple of the Jurassic Park franchise, and players might want to find out how to to keep their dinosaurs happy with the help of this guide.

Dinosaur Comfort Levels in Jurassic World Evolution 2

When players want to monitor their dinosaurs and make sure they're staying happy and comfortable, the most important thing to monitor is the creatures' comfort levels. Those can be found rather easily by hovering over the dinosaur and clicking on them for an extensive overview, with different tabs to look through for further information. The two biggest factors in dinosaur happiness in Jurassic World Evolution 2 are environment and cohabitation.

How to Control the Environment in Jurassic World Evolution 2

Most parks players run in the Jurassic World game feature different biomes and not all dinosaurs like the biome that's been made their new home. Using the comfort tab, fans can look at what each dinosaur needs in its territory to be comfortable and happy no matter where they are. After the park's rangers perform a status check, players should pin the dinosaur's comfort tab to the green environment editing panel while making adjustments in order to make sure the creatures get what they need. Stegosaurus, for example, needs ground fruit and forest. It won't take too kindly living among the sand and dried grass.

One tricky factor in making sure dinosaurs get their dream territory is that their "area" is one of these comfort metrics. If a dinosaur feels trapped, its comfort levels will plummet. In case of players accidentally make an enclosure too small for certain dinosaurs, they can always demolish parts of it to re-work the placing of the fences. It's a risky maneuver that might lead to smart dinosaurs figuring things out and escaping, which will tank Jurassic Park's reputation once again. One trick players can use is to ask for their capture teams to tranquilize the dinosaurs in question in order to put them to sleep until enclosures are fixed. Players can also extend enclosures by building the parts outside of the fencing, only to demolish just the unwanted parts after.

Dinosaur Cohabitation in JWE2

As seen in the first title, some dinosaurs can live peacefully in the same enclosures, inviting easy Appeal rates and helping some dinosaurs feel less lonely. Where Jurassic World Evolution had dinosaur cohabitation run by trial and error, the sequel has a helpful tab that says which different breeds of reptiles that a particular one likes and dislikes. From there, fans can use that guide comfortably to place dinosaurs in the same exhibit together without the risk of any fights or comfort levels dropping. One example is that Baryonyx can live with Compsogathus and Suchomminus, but it despises other carnivores.

An important thing to note is that some dinosaurs are naturally social and live in packs. Some of them will hate having any other dinosaur that isn't its own kind in the same enclosure, and others will need to be born alongside creatures just like themselves or else. The lonely status of dinosaurs of Jurassic World fame tends to neglect how their environment looks. If these animals don't have friends, they will constantly break free one way or another. Players should incubate more creatures to prevent this as soon as they can.

When it comes to keeping dinosaur comfort levels at 100%, players should also keep a close eye on the genetic traits dinosaurs are born with and plan ahead, as traits such as "Needy" and "Intolerant" make some creatures more difficult to care for than others with possible effects like being unable to handle other Jurassic Park creatures without a fight, or having an increase on just how much they need for their environment.

Luckily, the system is fairly straightforward, and once the needs are met, dinosaurs are kept happy as long as they're given constant status checks, and any ailments and diseases they catch are dealt with quickly. With the perfect environment and social levels, the only thing that can make them unhappy is their health. The first title in the series led dinosaurs to get irritable in stormy weather, but the sequel has lessened those effects. As long as players keep their star attractions at 100% comfort, the weather won't matter, but if it's even as low as 80%, the rain may be the final straw to make the players' tyrannosaurus rexes and velociraptors stage an escape.
