One feature that’s seen in many management simulation titles is a staffing function. While some games go without the option, Jurassic World Evolution 2 introduces hiring scientists as a way players can manage their tasks and also as a way to deepen the sabotage mechanic. This guide is where players can learn how to hire scientists and get the most out of their benefits.

The Importance of Scientists in Jurassic World Evolution 2

Scientists aren’t something Jurassic World Evolution 2 players can skip over. These all-important staff members are used for almost every task in the game, from research to dinosaur welfare. Whether players want to go digging for fossils or synthesize dinosaur genomes, players will be asked to pick scientists to perform the task with several different skill points and levels.

These staff members also boast another benefit than just their skill points in having special traits. Traits help assist with the different tasks scientists can be assigned to, such as speeding up the synthesis or incubation process of creating new dinosaurs. Players should make sure they hire and assign scientists in locations that benefit them and their traits for the best results.

How to Hire Scientists

Players can hire scientists by using three methods. They can either visit their park’s staff centers, visitor center, or simply access the scientist's menu through the manager view. From there, the fans that need to fill their ranks will see “hire new scientist” spaces below the ones they currently have. Otherwise, players will need to fire a scientist to hire new ones. With building upgrades and completing research nodes, fans can earn more spaces to hire more scientists.

In the event of players being unable to complete certain tasks such as traveling to certain fossil dig sites or synthesizing certain dinosaurs due to not having the appropriate skill point totals required, fans can train their scientists after completing certain research nodes. If players still don’t have enough points needed with fully-trained scientists, they can fire some only to re-hire one with a higher point total as a viable strategy.

Fans should also take note of the staff members’ “unrest” bars when selecting them. These represent the staff members’ current fatigue levels, and if it turns completely red, this means players risk the chance of the scientist sabotaging their park. Sabotage can affect many parts of the venue, including the power to make all gates open up to let the dinosaurs run wild. If fans make sure their scientists are well-rested frequently enough, there’s a chance they’ll never encounter any sabotage entirely.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
