Attaching a teaser or trailer for a highly anticipated film to a huge summer blockbuster has been a common practice in the film distribution industry for decades. Huge blockbusters are often able to generate hype for one another, and this is something that Universal Pictures is undoubtedly aware of. So with the imminent release of Fast and Furious 9, Universal has released a 15-second teaser of the first preview for Jurassic World: Dominion, announcing that the extended sneak peek will be attached to IMAX screenings of the Fast film.

Jurassic World: Dominion is the third film in the Jurassic Park reboot trilogy following Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Plot details are under wraps, but the film is expected to pick up where Fallen Kingdom left off, with humans and dinosaurs forced into a new era where the species must coexist on planet Earth. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, BD Wong, and Jeff Goldblum (among others) are returning for the sequel, while Sam Neill and Laura Dern are returning to reprise their Jurassic Park roles as Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, respectively.

The fifteen-second Jurassic World: Dominion teaser of the extended preview focuses exclusively on different species of dinosaurs and their interactions in a natural setting. Tyrannosaurus Rexes, pterodactyls, velociraptors, and more dinosaurs all make an appearance. The teaser showcases a sense of scale and majesty when it comes to the framing of the dinosaurs, giving off the effect that the dinosaurs onscreen are truly roaming free from the influence of humans.

Jurassic World: Dominion is very likely to continue its predecessors' pattern of box office success. Jurassic World's opening weekend gross was $200 million in the domestic market alone—which was record-breaking at the time and wouldn't be topped until Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The first Jurassic World went on to gross approximately $1.670 billion worldwide, while Fallen Kingdom was also a massive hit in its own right, grossing $1.3 billion worldwide.

If Jurassic World: Dominion can deliver on the epic themes that its teaser and its predecessors promised, then the film will certainly have an easy passageway toward replicating the franchise's success. The returns of Jurassic Park's original trio of heroes, who will appear together for the first time since the first installment of the long-running franchise, will likely entice even those who were less than thrilled with the first two Jurassic World films.

Jurassic World: Dominion releases on June 10th, 2022.
